Kotor Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site; the best preserved and certainly the most beautiful medieval town in the region. This walled City is in the Boka Bay, sandwiched between the majestic Mount Lovcen and the sea and therefore one of the most dramatic landscapes which you could ever visit. It is one of the main tourist destinations in Montenegro and has a wealth of attractions for the visitor but it still remains a fully functioning town with residents and locals living and working. Within the town is a maize of cobbled streets and alleys which contain churches, museums, venetian architecture and a cathedral dating back to 1166. From here you will also find the steps to the Old Fort where you will experience some of the most stunning views of the bay.

By staying outside of Kotor Old Town you probably would find that you would be making regular if not daily trips here just for the atmosphere that exists within its walls. This waterfront town boasts year round interest and is known for hosting numerous festivals, the squares are often filled with entertainment such as plays and has hosted fashion shows from some of the world's top designers.

The marina is located just outside its fortress walls and from here you can take a boat trip along the fjord or sit and watch the yachts and cruise ships sail in. The local beach is a 5-10 min walk where swimming or sunbathing is possible. The town has all the shops, restaurants and bars you could desire right on your doorstep, there is a lively daily market, selling organic produce and fresh flowers which in the evenings are replaced by stalls selling jewellery and trinkets. A cinema is located in the square opposite the apartment showing English speaking movies. A new shopping centre is also within a 10 minute walk with a fitness gym and soft play area for children. Very few cities can boast to have so much in such close proximity as does Kotor, which also rings true for Montenegro in general which is blessed with some of the most beautiful beaches, mountains and scenery.

The Bay of Kotor has the deepest fjords in the Mediterranean and is officially listed within the top 10 'Most Beautiful Bays in the World'.

There is a regular bus service running up and down the coast with a bus station nearby for further journeys.

The description and pictures on the website are an accurate description of the apartment. Those traveling with children should take into consideration that the area's "quiet time" is between midnight and 6 am during the week and even shorter on the weekends. However, it's a fair trade-off for being in the center of Kotor's beautiful old town and its unique atmosphere.

Very big place, inside the city walls. If you want a real experience of living inside an old ancient town, this is the place for you.

We had a lovely stay at John's apartment in Kotor. The location is perfect right next to the main square inside the medieval walls. Sandra was very helpful with tips on places to eat, bus stops, booking airport taxis etc. The apartment is very spacious with large bedrooms and very well equipped. Some people in other reviews have mentioned the noise from the nearby bar. It was fine when we were there stopping each night at about 11pm. You can't have a central location and not expect to hear noise from the local amenities in an old building! The walk up to the fortress is a must - the view is fabulous. We'd also recommend the drive up there 24+ hairpin bends! There is car and bike bike hire near the Galion posh restaurant by the bay - wish we'd known sooner about the bikes.

A massive and beautiful apartment in the old city. The hosts were extremely helpful and quick with responding to questions either via email or text. The location was terrific. The front bedrooms were a bit noisy but nothing a pair of earplugs couldn't fix.
