Affordable and cheery room with queen bed and full bathroom in a quiet home on 2 acres perfect for a quick layover or for a mini vacation tubing at Ichetucknee Springs and the Suwannee River! We live in the country surrounded by farms and parks. We just moved here from California and are working towards building a homestead. Private, clean and quiet private bedroom located out in the country. Full, private bathroom adjacent to bedroom. Air conditioning. Good wifi!

There are tons of natural springs in the area, including Ichetucknee Springs and river tubing just 15 minutes away, Little River Springs, Peacock Springs, Royal Springs, Troy Springs etc. The nearest restaurants and stores are 20+ minutes away. You will have 24 hour access to the kitchen, bathroom, living room etc. Plenty of parking.

PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING:

1) We live in the country so while we are close to the state parks and springs, the closest restaurant and grocery store are 20 minutes away. Most guests don't find this a huge problem but we want to make sure you are aware of how large and spread out the state of Florida can be, especially northern Florida. It might be a good idea to stop for dinner on your way in.

2) The roads can be quite dark at nighttime. The roads leading to our house are completely paved. Cell service can be limited. A GPS would be a good idea. We're remote but the roads are flat and straight so it's fairly easy to navigate.

3) It's Florida - there are mosquitoes and spiders and crickets outside and we do our best to keep them out there but sometimes they manage to get in. It's also very hot outside in the summer (July/August). We have A/C in the bedrooms so feel free to use it as much as you need. We keep the rest of the house cool relative to outside, but not super cold. It's very pleasant here in the fall/spring/winter.

We usually stay up pretty late and we both work from home on a flex schedule so we will be up when you arrive :)

- Your own room and bathroom (very rarely may have to share bathroom if our other room is booked but there's another in the master bedroom you can use just in case!)
- FREE towels!
- Good Wifi throughout the entire house
- You have access to the kitchen, pots, pans, utensils, stove, microwave etc. for cooking meals and some space in the refrigerator
- Feel free to use our living room and our indoor hammock
- We can set up the projector if you want to watch some Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime on the big wall in our living room (feels like a movie theater!) - Just ask!
- We have a washer you can use, but clothes will have to be hung up outside on the clothesline since we don't have a dryer.
- FREE tea, coffee, hot cocoa in the morning!

We are usually home during the day working in and around the house. We are friendly and happy to make conversation but we respect people's desire for privacy.

We can direct you to the Ichetucknee Springs just a few miles away. I put together a thorough guide to local springs, parks, restaurants, blueberry U-Pick etc.!

We have a large garden and many fruit trees. Hopefully we'll have some fresh fruit in the coming years.

Of course, if you're just passing through and need a place to crash, just let us know and we'll stay out of your way completely and give you space.

Quiet and peaceful farm community.

*20 minutes to Lake City (Walmart, grocery, restaurants)
*50 minutes to Gainesville (University, hiking, farmers market, shopping etc.)
*10-20 minutes to several natural springs state parks including Ichetucknee Springs, and the Suwannee River State Park (boating, canoeing, kayaking, (paddling), hiking, etc).
*20 minutes minutes away from "Spirit of Suwannee Music Park Camp Grounds" (concerts and festivals)
*Bars/clubs are limited. There is a hookah bar in Lake City and a few sports bars (20 min away), and live music at the Great Outdoors restaurant in High Springs (30 min away), but you would probably have to drive an hour to Gainesville for the typical party scene.

You will need a car to get anywhere. A couple parks/springs are bike-able. As mentioned above, the nearest restaurant/grocery stores are 20 min away by car. Please consider this when planning your trip, especially if you'll be here for multiple days. There are tons of restaurants if you are willing to drive up to Lake City or Live Oak and couple closer ones (Subway, Hardee's etc.) in Branford about a 15 min drive. Parking is abundant in our large driveway.

Smoking only OUTside the house please!

Let me know if you are bringing any pets. We have some chickens in the backyard.

Hi I'm Jacquelyn. I'm originally from New York, lived in California (Bay Area) for 7 years and just bought a home in Florida with my boyfriend Enio. Enio is from Brazil and speaks fluent Portuguese and Spanish. We welcome guests from all over the globe and love to hear stories about people's travels. Both Enio and I have traveled far and wide. We are starting a homestead here in Florida and we're building our garden, preparing for chickens and have lots of freshly planted fruit trees. We are constantly working on projects around the house, mostly outside and would love to show you!
