Beautiful and stylish 2 double bedroomed (sleeps 4) 3 storey boutique style cottage. Situated in the heart of bohemian Wirksworth, in a quiet cul-de-sac in the centre of the conservation area. Minutes walk to shops, bars, pubs, restaurants and wonderful independent cinema. Great walks from the doorstep, Ideally situated for all the Peak District has to offer, Matlock, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Bakewell, Dovedale, Eyam all a short drive away and Carsington Water just over a mile.

Le logement

The house has had a very interesting past, an insight to some of its history is contained in the red folder.
Built in the 1830s over three storeys. The ground floor having the kitchen and bathroom, the first floor the living room and the top floor both bedrooms. It is a brick fronted, stone backed house in the middle of a row of 6 houses situated in a quiet cul-de-sac with St Mary's church at the end. Literally a minute's walk to local shops, bars, pubs, coffee shops and restaurants.
The kitchen/diner contains a double oven, 8 ring gas burner, microwave, a built in fridge/freezer, fully tiled porcelain floor.
The bathroom has a toilet, hand basin and shower run from the combi boiler so you have constant hot water at all times, heated towel rail.
The living room has one two seater and one three seater sofa, feather filled with an armchair, T.V., D.V.D./Blu-ray player, Phillips music centre for DAB radio, I-Pod, Blu-tooth and CDs. A selection of DVDs are in the drawers. A log burner with a starter pack during the colder months.
Two double bedrooms with a pocket sprung double mattress in both, with lambs wool and silk fillings and coolmax memory foam pillows.
From December 2015 until April 2016, a reclaimed pitch pine floor was added in the living room, the original fireplace was exposed and chimney reinstated and a log burner added. Full re-carpeting and re-decoration were also completed with the addition of quality brand new and newly acquired antique furniture throughout.

All bedding, hand towels, bath towels, tea towels, washing-up liquid, sponge, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, hand soap, toilet rolls, hairdryer.

The whole of the house is for use. The yard at the rear does not belong to us and we have no right of use over it. As such unfortunately we have nowhere to store cycles, sorry.

Autres remarques

Limited parking is available on the street outside the house. If these are taken you can always leave your car at the property to offload and load your belongings. A free car park is available. If you come back out of St Mary's Gate, turn left and take the second left. The car park is about 20 metres further on the left. It is a two minute walk back to the cottage. Free parking on the street is also available in that area.
All details to access the cottage etc. will be forwarded 48 hours before your holiday starts.
Unfortunately we do not have the facility to store any cycles.

We kindly ask our guests to respect our home and treat it with the same love and care that we do, but we do want you to enjoy the house and have a wonderful relaxed holiday! We expect the house to be left as you find it. If you would kindly remove shoes from the carpeted areas. Please do not take food into the living area. Please use coasters provided on all wooden surfaces. Kindly wash kitchen items and put away, take rubbish and recycling to the bins outside. Please respect our neighbours. We are situated in the middle of a row and have neighbours either side.
limited parking outside property on first come first serve basis, however you may always park directly outside to load and offload bags etc. Free parking available 2 minutes walk away.
Due to open plan nature, log burner, and low windows, unfortunately strictly no children under 12 years of age.
NO pets.
Maximum occupancy is 4 people.
We do not have rights to use the paved yard at the back of the property.
Again, respecting our neighbours, we do not accept all male or all female parties, really sorry.

We had a great stay at Jane's house. All the informations she gave us were useful. The red folder in the house gave us great ideas for restaurants, walks... The house is lovely, very clean and offers all you need. We stayed 5 nights and didn't want to leave ! We would highly recommend this house. Thank you Jane.

No.10 was the perfect choice to explore the area from. We stayed for two nights for a long weekend and really enjoyed our time, which was largely down to the accommodation and the great space and feel Jane has created. The whole house was very comfortable, but especially the lounge and the log burner creating a cosy atmosphere. It’s ideally situated in the middle of the village/town, just a couple of minutes walk to several nice restaurants and pubs. No. 10 was very clean throughout and exactly as described, and even better in real life. Communication with Jane before and during was great and the check in and out process very easy and detailed. Brilliant place, already planning our return.

Beautiful cottage , very welcoming. The hosts were very informative with great communication. The cottage is situated right in the centre of the little town , fairly quiet but lovely old fashioned feel and choice of places to eat / drink . So near to many places of interest . Highly recommended !

The cottage is beautiful and well located in a quiet neighborhood - but only a few steps away from the bus stop and shops. Jane is a lovely host and was very responsive.

What an amazing home from home - No.10 is a beautiful place. So much care and attention has gone into making the house really special - it is stylish, but cosy and homely, incredibly clean and well presented, but totally inviting and comfortable, ...and oozes attention to detail to really make you feel 'at home' giving you a warm welcome and so many thoughtful touches to really leave you wanting for nothing! Jane is a brilliant host and her homemade cake that awaited us upon our arrival was just such a lovely surprise. My friend and I had planned this weekend away from our kids and husbands to recharge our batteries - we feel more rested and restored than we'd hoped thanks to our super 'home from home' and thoughtful host! We hope to be back sometime.
