The Tea cup gallery is close to the Whanganui river, Tongoriro Crossing, on the road to Auckland or Wellington or Lake Taupo. It is on the way to everywhere! My home is good for 2 people or 1 person. Cost is for 2 people with 1 double bed & 2 bunk beds in the same room.(Extra person $20). My gallery is a piece of living NZ history, the last remaining shop in the once thriving town of Manunui. The shop is over 120 years, very old in NZ standards. We are collectors, artists and recycliers.
I live in an Art/retro gallery. The room available is for 2 people only but if you wish to add another person the room has a double bed and bunk beds, so can sleep 4. It will cost $20.00 per extra person after the std two people. This does include breakfast. Breakfast is self help depending on what is available can include pikelets, fruit, (in season), toast, eggs and spreads plus tea and coffee.

There are several communal spaces. You can hang out in the gallery, kitchen/dinning, living room or outside. You can use the kitchen to cook or use the babeque and I am happy to share salad ingredience from the garden if it is in season and I have enough. (please ask). Please note the gallery area and room are separated from the lounge by a door, but the room itself only has a curtain. You can close the lounge door at night, but please remember the gallery is a communal space.

I can socialise with guests or you can have your own space. it is up to you. There are three rooms other than your room, plus outdoor entertaining where you can hang out so my home is very open plan. Please be resepctful to the animals and people who stay here as well.
I am an artist and collector of all things retro so my home is full of wonderful vintage treasures, everything in my home is recycled, vintage or upcycled. Just because something is vintage however DOES NOT mean it is unclean. While furniture is distressed, floors worn and paint flaking we take pride in ensuring the Tea Cup gallery has a high std of cleanliness. So if you want a pristine sterile environment, please do not come to the tea cup gallery. We are not a hotel and at $25 per person you are not going to get such a unique experence anywhere else. We are a family who will welcome you with open arms, and only ask that you respect our special home in return. If you don't like the distressed 120 year old look, or a couple of dogs and a cat, lots of beautiful retro antiques then please don't stay here.
- we have two small dogs and a cat so we are a very animal friendly place, but it is because of our pets that we can not accommodate more sorry.
- we practice recycling and are environmently friendly.
