À propos de ce logement
We have a variety of cottages available for rent, each with a unique atmosphere. Five are located close to the waterfront where young families enjoy watching over their children swimming. Five are privately located on cliff-side waterfront.

We have equipment that can be borrowed as long as it is returned including a variety of sporting balls, badminton rackets, board games etc.
On site there is a complimentary fish cleaning shed, public washrooms used primarily by campers, a raft for swimming and beach area (that is a bit rocky due to high winds this winter).
Firewood can be purchased for $8.00/half load or $15.00/full load. Rentals are available including a rowboat, kayaks, and paddle boards for $15.00/hour, and a canoe for $10.00/hour. These services are not included in the AirBnB price but can be purchased and rented on site.
Due to our remote location our only Internet service provider is via satellite. Therefore our internet is very slow and does not extend very far. Due to these limitations wifi is available, however it can only be used in the main lodge where it is still not as fast as you are used to in the city. So please come prepared, bring your music and movies with you and leave work at home if you can!

We, the owners live on site (in the lodge, which is separate from the unit you are renting) and are available if you need anything!
The cottages contain everything you should need/including bed linens and kitchen supplies, however we do not supply bathroom or beach towels. If you forget them they can be rented for a small fee.
There are recycling bins beside the cottage, we would appreciate if you take your recycling and garbage out when you leave. Please try to keep the compost tidy as well, it is difficult to clean off the floor and counters. We have extra bags if you need them!
We care a lot about our planet, keeping our dump and community clean, and we try to up cycle as much as possible. We hope you will do the same during your stay .
Quiet hours are 11pm-7am.

I am a recent graduate from Queen's University. I moved home and am now helping my mom, Karen Holmes, manage her business. The guy in my profile picture is my brother.
We live on Manitoulin Island, the largest and most beautiful fresh water island in the world. My grandparents Hildur and Sverre moved to Canada and bought Black Rock Resort in 1963 because it reminded them of their Norwegian river-side farm. My mom has been running the resort for many years now but due to many factors tourism has gone down on Manitoulin, and at Black Rock.
I want to help my mom re-establish her business because it's beautiful and beloved to me. We have ample camping and 10 cottages that we are hoping to renovate over the next few years.
