Thomas is fantastic ! I came picked us at the train station, offered us drink and bring us back to the train station at the end of our journey. Also he came back one day just to give us printed cart that we asked for. The room was really nice and clean and the flat was fully furnished. We had a very great time, thank you Thomas!

This “flat” is actually an 8 bedroom 2 bath 4th floor walkup. You will be sharing this “flat” with what appeared to be 7 or 8 adults and 1 child who rent monthly from the host, who stated they pay 400euros/month, and are not ABB customers. Upon check in I pointed out to the host that the door framed appeared to be damaged and might not be secure. I was assured it was fine. Upon further inspection the lock only single locks and the door frame had previously sustained damage from a forced entry. Note this is just the door to the area shared by 7-8 other people in the flat not the outside door, but it should be noted that this door lock is also just an old fashioned easy to open skeleton key type lock in the first place so not really as secure as you would expect in the states but seems common in Europe. Your room overlooks the rail line which is quite noisy. Also be aware there is no Air Conditioning or fan to cool the room and no screens on the windows so if you need to open the windows you will be visited by many bugs in the night. The temperature in the room was 30C 86F when I arrived and never dipped below 28C 83F. Between 11pm-1am there were cars and motor cycles racing up and down the streets in the area. In spite of the rules state that there is no smoking at 2am I could smell smoke in my room. Later while going to one of the two toilets I found a cigarette in the toilet. Around 4am the train drivers show up and crank the diesel train engines so that is pleasant. In the morning when I was going to get my drink from the fridge in the kitchen I was greeted by a large man only wearing a towel in the hall. After having a horrible night and clearly disappointed the host agreed that I could check out and he would refund 200euros (for the additional two nights). I felt that I would just not fight over the 100euros even though it was horrible. He did take me to the hotel, but later he then reneged on his word and offered only 100euros stating that he had offered another flat. This offer occurred after I had created a non-refundable online booking with a hotel for significantly more than I had budgeted as there were no other options in the town. So his offer was as we say a day late and a dollar short. I have stayed in BB all over the world and I can say this is not a BB this is a boarding house. I would suggest you avoid this host he does not understand what a B and B is in the least. It should also be noted that he does not live at this property it is only one of his rental properties.

As i explained to you before, i´m really sorry that you had unexpected issues with the really not normal temperatures these days and noises in the night which also could happen if you stay in the center and let the Window open, which i completely understand because of the heatwave we had in town... The room is actually in the 3rd floor not 4th. Also its also an 5 room flat with his own Bathroom but shares only the kitchen with a second 3 room flat. The room is also clearly described in the add as a room in a shared flat. The door and lock was inspected before and double checked with the guest together and found as fine and working. There is no AC in the room but it wasn't anytime communicated and also not staying in my add that there is an AC. You are overlooking railways and have a nice view to the Lake and the swiss alps. Also there definitely "is" a screen at the Window also curtains which i showed to my guest when he moved in. because of the issue that he smelled smoke, i can only tell that this House is non smoking. But it could be that anybody insight or outside was smoking and you smelled smoke. But we are all Humans and Humans don´t always accept rules... Also which i didn´t understood, was, that my guest was disappointed because he thought that i would stay in that flat as well... so he told me! Because of that "issues" i offered this Guest an other room in an other flat in an different house which he rejected. He told me to want to stay in a Hotel and not in an AirBnB. I offered him to pick him up and drive him to an Hotel which he told me before and is in walking distance nearby the Exhibition center where he came for. So i drove him to the Hotel and said that i will refund him money. I did NOT spoke over the amount! Later i thought about everything again and offered him regardless due to my straight booking rules, an refund of 100€ which he rejected again... So i´m really, really sorry that he had not get the room and service which he had maybe expected, but i stay to my word to refund him in an amount which i can accept, which to be clear, also was totally due to my goodwill. I always want to help my guests to have a nice experience in my hometown and with AirBnB, but if they don´t accept my help when issues comes up, then i can´t help them more then i already did. Best regards
