A main feature of our location is a short 10 minute, flat walk to the Jardin. Everyone says they're close to the Jardin, but we really are. That's why we bought this house. Our house is in Colonia Guadalupe and is on a very well lit street with parking directly across from our house and along nearby streets as well.
Upon entering from the street you will notice the beautiful arched architecture that is an eye stopping feature of this house. The lovely front garden and patio area are a favorite spot for us to enjoy meals, read or just relax and listen to local birds and the trickling sounds of the fountain. You will enter the house through the dramatic arches that lead to the living room. Comfort abounds here with a leather couch and loveseat, and a high-end zero-gravity chair. Relax and enjoy the sights and smells of San Miguel while watching TV on the HDTV, listening to music on the Kenwood stereo, or connecting to the outside world with WIFI.
Throughout the house we have chosen to use traditional Mexican tile. You will see this vividly displayed in the kitchen area which hosts all new stainless steel appliances. There is lots of counter space for cooking and working together to make whatever fabulous meals you may wish to create. The kitchen is fully furnished with basic utensils, cookware and dishes. We have a water purification system throughout the house but we can also help you set up water delivery if that is your preference.
The lovely dining room has dining space for 6 around the table, while overlooking the patio gardens. In addition, the kitchen bar seats 2 for casual nibbling.
Go up the stairs to the luxurious master suite, with a sumptuous Mexican King bed. See the gorgeous brick boveda ceiling, the gas fired fireplace, desk and the arched windows and doors leading to the private master terrace. The master bathroom with handmade Mexican tile counters has a skylight, double sinks, and a separate tub and shower. Also upstairs is the guest bedroom, with a queen bed, and a useful desk if you need to do some work. This bedroom has a ceiling fan, and a private bathroom. Both bedrooms have lots of closet space and linens and towels are all high end quality. Both bedrooms have desks.
Finally, go up to the third level – the dramatic rooftop terrace. Here you have a complete panoramic view of the city of San Miguel de Allende, from the local churches, to the Parroquia, to the mountains beyond. You can enjoy sunshine or shade as you wish. Delight in rooftop dining on the round teak table (seats 4), or a starlight cocktail on the couch. There is a small terrace refrigerator to keep your beverages cold. The terrace is well lit if you want, or turn the lights out and enjoy the city lights.
The house is beautifully decorated with artwork and crafts, and completely furnished with WIFI internet access included throughout the main areas of the house. Wired internet jacks are also available in the guest bedroom (on the desk), and the rooftop terrace. With your computer and a (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) account, you can have free calls all over the world. In addition, there is a Mexican land-line for local calls, (you’re responsible for any long distance calls, including calls to any Mexican cell phones made from our land line).
The house has 3 bathrooms; 1 for each of the two bedrooms, and a downstairs powder room.
The rental includes twice a week housekeeping service to keep the house clean and tidy. You are welcome to use our washer and dryer or our lovely housekeeper Rosa will also do any laundry that you might have once a week but you will need to pay her directly for this service.
To keep the plants inside and outside of our home in good shape, we have a gardener to stop by once a week to water, fertilize and prune as needed.
Becasue it is culturally appropiate to tip workers in Mexico, we ask that you tip Rosa 150 pesos per week (about $6.75 US) for her help in keeping our home tidy for you and tip our gardener once monthly 200-500 peso

This a actually a 3 bedroom home. One of the bedrooms does not have guest access. There is plenty of storage space throughout the house but there are 3 locked doors as well for owner storage. the master bedroom has 2 huge closets each approximately 6 feet long . One of these will be locked. Each bedroom has a desk and is spacious.. the master bedroom is particularly large.

I am available by phone (but you can not call me from our home land line or you will be charged for a long distance call), e mail or text any time you might have a question .... if you are a night owl I will not be answering correspondence between 10 pm to 9 am unless it is an emergency. I also have a property manager in San Miguel that is available to assist if need be.

This Rental Agreement is being entered into by (“Guest”) and (“Homeowner”)
1. Property. The property address is: Carlos del Castillo 3, Colonia Guadalupe, San Miguel de Allende GTO, 37710, MX . The cross street is Juan de Dios Peza. Please see (URL HIDDEN) 887471 for a detailed description of our property.
2. Term of Lease. This lease begins on “Check-in Date”), and ends on (“Check-out Date”) per Air BnB booking reservation.
3. Payment. Cost in US dollars is as follows: Payment will be received as listed in (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)/AirBNB quote
4. Ongoing Payments. Rosa, the housekeeper, should be tipped a minimum of 150 pesos a week (about $6.70 US) – these payments should be made directly to her on a weekly basis.
5. Salvador, our gardener: Please tip him one time each month 200 – 500 pesos you decide.
6. Damage deposit is per AirBnB guidelines. Any keys not returned will incur a $50 charge per key, which will be taken out of the damage deposit. All locks will need to be re-keyed if the keys are not returned, that is why we have the $50 fee.
7. House Rules
7.1 Condition of Property upon Checkout. Guest shall leave the property clean, undamaged, with no missing items. When exiting, the house must be locked and the keys left in the mail slot.
7.2 Guests. Absolutely no pets. There is an additional fee for any additional guests that stay overnight beyond 3 total people. Renter will notify owner if there any additional overnight guests. . Four persons is the maximum amount of guests at all times. This limit is strictly enforced at all times. Our house is NOT suitable for children under 13.
7.3 Housekeeping. The housekeeper comes twice a week for 5 hours each day on Tuesdays and Fridays. The house keeper is there to do jobs associated with the house. The renter can ask the housekeeper for additional services but these must occur outside of the 10 hours dedicated to keeping the house clean and tidy.
7.4 Smoking and Drugs. Absolutely no smoking or drug use is allowed in the house. If either of these occurs, you will be evicted immediately.
7.5 Terrace Barbecue. This is not available for guest use. Because we do not have daily housekeeping service, the risk of cockroaches as a result of messes on the BBQ is too great.
7.6 Per the description on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) or Air BnB the beds are Mexican king and queen size.
7.7 Respect the house and neighbors.... No loud music after 10 pm except on Friday and Saturdays
7.8 Excessive use of water or gas will result in additional fees taken from the security deposit
8. Governing Law. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the state of Washington. Each of the parties irrevocably consents to the exclusive personal jurisdiction of the federal and state courts located in Washington, as applicable, for any matter arising out of or relating to this Agreement.
9. Indemnification. Guest agrees to indemnify and hold Homeowner harmless from any liability for personal injury or property damage sustained by Guest or parties invited onto the property by Guest.
10. Entire Agreement. This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement of the parties and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous oral or written agreements concerning this subject matter.

She loves so many aspects of this work especially the laughter and fun that she helps to create as children learn to communicate more effectively. She is also very fond of nature and the outdoors which is inspired by her Wisconsin farm girl roots. Bruce is an electrical engineer who also enjoys his work immensely. He is also an avid bridge player, a game that he grew up around, with his parents both attaining a life master level.
