Beyond the stream on our farm, Vale de Torre, is a new wooden studio built on top of the original mill. From here, if you are quiet for long enough – and have a bit of luck – you should see a family of otters and the small trout who live in the fast-running water.
The studio sleeps two people. It has a kitchenette and a Swedish-designed compost toilet. Outside, the shower completes the facilities which are the perfect choice for those who want to be immersed in nature.

Most of the year we are living in the main house on the property and are close at hand should guests need anything. We try to keep a balance between being available and privacy
Guests and owners leave their car at the old village school ,which now serves as Hans consultation room. From here you make a delightful descent along a footpath onto an old medieval track that leads to the house.
On arrival guests will be met at the school and their luggage and any food supplies will be transported in a small jeep to the house.
Likewise on departure we will transport your luggage.
Optional services: breakfast, yoga class and guided walks. Please ask for the prices.
Please take care of our home, like you would yours. Smoking outside.

Since we moved to Portugal almost 30 years ago we have enjoyed gardening, horse riding, painting, hiking and living of the land. After living in the Alentejo for years we have nestled in the foothills of the Peneda/Geres in northern Portugal, an area we consider to be the most beautiful region of Portugal.
