Stayed in Ankica's holiday home for a week with my entire family. She was more than welcoming and helpful. Even left us a generous welcome gifts such as domestic presutto, pickles, red wine and refreshments. Whenever we had an issue she did her best to solve it asap even tho she lives in a city located miles away. The house itself was super clean, had everything we needed and more. The location is also amazing, if you are looking for peace and quiet this house and village is your go to. The beach was pretty close as well. It is a beautiful pebbles beach that is very clean, has a couple of beach bars and also there is jetski, boats, pedaling boat, ect. to rent. The village itself has a grocery store, bakery, restaurants, bars and is also only a few miles away from the city of Trogir as well as Split Airport.

Our arrival from Split Airport was a bit interesting as there's a bottleneck (two small bridges connecting the mainland to the islands) in Trogir which the taxi driver didn't want to get caught in, so we were left at the first bridge to the old town. We crossed to the island of Čiovo and called Ankica who generously offered to pick us up and take us to the house. On the way she showed us the village of Slatine and it's main restaurants and beaches which were lovely. When we go back we'll take a taxi to Trogir and then take the ferry the rest of the way to Slatine (there are several ferries each day, and it's a great way to see the island, one way fair for 2 adults and 2 children was only about £6.50). Once at the house Ankica talked us through where everything was and made sure that we were able to contact her as well as a relative in the apartments next door should anything be needed. The house is a new build and in pristine condition, it's small but perfect for us (my wife, our two children and myself). It had a main bedroom with a double bed and a second bedroom with three single beds (one bunk and one standard single). There's a dining/living room and a kitchenette and bathroom. Having the washing machine meant we didn't need to pack a large amount and the kitchen had everything you'd need to prepare most meals so we could stay in and cook what we liked (great for picky kids). Ankica was kind and generous enough to have stocked the refrigerator with some beer, wine, the Croatian equivalent of Parma Ham, and fresh bread from the local bakery. The walk to the beach is about 5 minutes (less if you rush, and more if you have dawdling kids), and is a pebble and stone beach as most are in Croatia so sandals/watershoes are a must. It was never overcrowded the entire week we were there and during the week was actually quite quiet. There is kind of a bouncy castle cum jungle gym that is floating about 40 feet out from the main beach which you can rent time on. It was the perfect way to keep the kids entertained while we relaxed on the beach. There are a couple markets in the village but we mainly went to the German Market that is opposite the beach and seems to be the main one. They stocked most of the food we needed but if more specific items (nappies, suncream, etc.) are needed it would probably be best to go to Trogir. The restaurants have wonderful fresh seafood as you would expect but also serve pizza, pasta, and other items if desired. While I wouldn't describe them as cheap they aren't expensive by any means. All in all it was a perfect holiday, Ankica was a wonderful host and we can't wait to go back.
