À propos de ce logement
Quiet street. Very near downtown, parks, walk & bike trails, arts institutions, local eat/drinks, Colorado College and Olympic Training Center. Memory foam bed, full kitchen, lovely garden. Affectionate host cat and dog. Wi-fi. Whole house water system/RO drinking water. Good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
I'm on a quiet, dead-end street next to a creek. My garden is a wonderful area to relax, with a beautiful view of Pikes Peak, and feels quite secluded for being in the heart of the city. The house is colorfully painted and cottage-cute. The highlight is my earthship-inspired sunroom/greenhouse, which you're welcome to enjoy by day hours.

Guests have access to all but my office and the greenhouse/sunroom by night. Enjoy the urban garden in the backyard and feel free to harvest goodies to enhance your meals.

I live here, and am happy to chat when time allows, or respect your desire for privacy. I will generally be available to help with any needs during your stay. If you're cooking and need basics such as butter, oil, etc., or milk for your coffee, please help yourself. If I'm cooking, often I'll share food or offer to feed you. We love community and getting to know people.
I live in the Shooks Run neighborhood, just east of Colorado College, west of the Olympic Training Center (and Memorial Hospital) and a mile north of downtown. It's a very safe area with nearby walking and biking trails.
I offer off-street parking in my driveway, but there's more spots on the street, which is a dead-end street, so very little traffic. The local and regional bus stations are both downtown, within two miles. I live blocks from a major bike/walking trail which offers a scenic way to get to great restaurants, coffee shops and drink spots.
My wonderful girlfriend Riley lives here with me and helps me co-host. We're easy going and respectful of space, and can make friends with anyone.
Riley and I are happy to share our home, and we hope guests will treat it as they treat their own. Our office is private and the greenhouse is our bedroom by night, though you are welcome (in fact, encouraged) to enjoy it by daytime and early evening. Smoking (including pot) is fine outside away from windows. My cat is indoor/outdoor, so no worries. Please ensure Moses, my dog, doesn't get let out of the gate. I look forward to hosting you!

I'm a food critic, photographer and editor at the Colorado Springs Independent, our area's alt weekly. I've been in journalism 10 years, with 10 years prior to that in the restaurant industry. I moved to C. Springs to attend Colorado College and fell in love with the area, decided to stick around after graduation and much travel elsewhere. I'm also an urban gardener and love all the outdoors stuff like biking, hiking, backpacking. Pursuant to sustainability interests, I spent two years with much help building an earthship-inspired, cob (mud) wall greenhouse/sunroom onto my existing house. I've always enjoyed meeting new people at international hostels, and hope to share my home with that same warmth and community spirit.
