Changeover days - TUESDAY and FRIDAY.
Offering so much more than the usual caravan experience, Bluebird is a 1950's vintage caravan. Located on our farm near the market town of Bridport, close to the Dorset Jurassic Coast.
Enjoy peace and quiet and stunning views over the Marshwood Vale; wildflower meadows where you are welcome to walk and enjoy the birdsong and wildlife. The dark night skies are wonderful for star gazing. The caravans suit couples, solo travellers, families, and dogs.
Bluebird is a 1959 caravan, made in Poole, England and was top of the range in it's day! When we moved to Purcombe Farm in 2009 the Bluebird had been sadly neglected and left to rot. We spent a year restoring her to her former glory and have made curtains and seat coverings in 50's style fabrics.
Your stay includes all linen, towels and electricity, the caravan has a well equipped kitchen with a Baby Belling electric cooker and a fridge, there is also a television and dvd player.
Being a vintage caravan, the Bluebird does not have a bathroom within the caravan so we have built a shower/wet room right next to it to provide modern-day facilities, this is exclusively for your use and is literally a step away from the caravan. The layout of the caravan provides a fold-away double bed and a single bunk/seating either side of the table with a separate kitchen.
The kitchen is well equipped with a fridge, electric Baby Belling cooker and electric kettle and a caftiere and has all you need to make meals during your holiday.
Located on a hillside above our Grade II* listed thatched farmhouse the Bluebird caravan has a private courtyard garden with a bench and table for eating outside. From the parking area there is access to our 35 acre farm where you are free to walk and to enjoy the fabulous views over the Marshwood Vale. The Shaves Cross Inn is less than a mile down the lane, serving food and drinks, with a dog-friendly garden.
The caravan has comfy recliner chairs to sit in to savour the sunsets and a barbecue/firebowl to cook on and keep you warm in the evenings. We also provide a fire extinguisher and smoke alarm for peace of mind.
You are welcome to bring your dog with you on your holiday. (£10 charge for dogs).

My family and I are happy to help with anything you need during your stay. We live in the farmhouse nearby and are happy to respond to text messages or for you to come and knock on the door. We always welcome our guests but then leave them to enjoy some peace, quiet and relaxation.
The countryside is very dark at night! You may like to bring torches to help you get around at night. Wellies are a good idea, even in the summer when the grass is long or damp.

My family and I live in an ancient listed farmhouse in the beautiful Dorset countryside. We have two caravans on the farm that we rent out to guests.
My husband, Nick, was born and bred near Bridport and between us we have a good local knowledge which we are always happy to share with our guests.
I enjoy gardening, cooking, eating out and yoga. Nick's interests are classic tractors, vintage cars and steam traction engines.
We always come and say hello to our guests after they arrive but then leave them in peace during their stay. Guests are welcome to come and find us if they need anything and we are always happy to have a chat.
The land around the farm is 35 acres of meadowland which has mown paths around the fields to make walking easier. You are welcome to walk anywhere on the farm during your stay and we hope that you will enjoy the wildflowers, wildlife and birdsong.
We have been successfully renting out our two caravans through a well known site for owners since 2013 and have been given many 5 star reviews by our guests. We have recently decided that Airbnb is more suited to our style!
