Description

My place is close to the beach, public transport, family-friendly activities, and restaurants and dining. My place is good for couples, families (with kids), and big groups.

This is a grand old house with lots of character, and lots of open space . It sits on almost 2 acres, a rarity in Bermuda, with lots of fruit trees, cherry trees, cedar trees Poinciana trees, Roses, flowers blooming and birds singing. The expansive porch is the best place to hangout with shade from the sun, and great views of the gardens below. Open up four more doors onto the porch from the house and you have a wonderful setting for the whole family to gather.
The trail to the wonderful Cambridge beach is a wonderful walk through what was once a botanical garden, and passes behind the house where David and Iman Bowie lived for many years. One visit and you'll know why they lived here for so many years.

You will access to the whole house, save the storage/workshop space below the porch, and of course almost 2 acres of lush trees and yards. The front lawn and lower garden have been ideal places for many weddings. I've lost count but we do at least 3 a year with some as large with 100 guests. NB. Tents rentals for shade highly recommended.

I live a minute away, when I'm not living in "big house' as we call it. I'll be around to give a tour, help you get groceries back from the store, recommend what to do and where to go, and other general info about Bermuda. The house carries a variety of basics which each group uses and replaces, so salt pepper, cooking spices, sauces, salad dressings, ketchup mustard and some leftover spirits are all there to make the first day easy to settle in. The store is very close by, 10 mins on foot.

Most guests are very hungry when they arrive, and so there are some easy choices to dash out for a quick meal, especially if you've been travelling since early morning. The hotel restaurant "breezes" is just down the trail on the beach, it's the closest, and what a great place for lunch or dinner with a sunset view. The Country Squire pub is a 10 minute walk to the village, and often has local fish, burgers fries etc, and lots of cold beer and rum, of course. The locals hang here, so it's often entertaining, and of course when the big football(soccer) matches are on you'll find a big crowd huddled around the bar at any time of day making lots of noise, oohhh and aaahhhhhs. We have our fair share of Man U fans, Liverpool, Chelsea and all the rest.

Getting around is easy, rent a scooter if your a skilled bike rider, and they have a shop next door at the hotel, or they deliver and give you an orientation. We drive on the left, so you must be careful. Taxi's, booked in advance on our new Uber style app. called (URL HIDDEN) or buses on regular schedules on the main road going east and west all day. Ferries do morning and evening commuter runs to town daily M-F, and they are a 15 min walk from the house to either Watford bridge of Cavello bay, same ferry diff stops, and it's the way I go to work, and it's great, and then there is the dockyard ferry service to town 7 days a week every hour, so a 10 min bus ride west and on the ferry you go, and in summer season, there is also a ferry several times a day to historic town of St Georges.

Golfers take note, Port Royal Golf Course is just minutes away.
Here is a review from Trip advisor.

“Stunning Views with a side of golf!”
5 of 5 stars, Reviewed 2 weeks ago
Port Royal Golf Club - home of the PGA Championship for 7 years!!!! Wonderful course walked & played by the best golfers in the world!!!! The 16th hole is the signature hole that gives pause to every golfer. It just that kind of course, awesome views that draw you in, but be wary as traps and thick rough await you. The staff are amazing, willing to assist with a smile to make sure you have an enjoyable experience!!
