Hello! Thanks for stopping by!

My house is a charming south-facing townhouse in downtown built in the mid-80s. It's within easy 24-hr public transit access and walking distance to attractions and hubs, but situated off the main streets for peaceful sleep at night. Bedroom and bathroom are on the third floor. The bed is a double size futon bed which sleeps two very comfortably. The house is furnished tastefully. It is clean, and painted with zero VOC paints. There are too many steps for toddlers to be safe.

There are some lovely plants. No pets can be accommodated. This is a house that has been set up to cultivate health, good energy and well-being. The idea is to be mindful, clean and respectful of the space as you enjoy your time here. There is lots of sunlight in the house, and it is smoke-free, drug-free and scent-free. Like many Canadian houses, we leave outside shoes in the foyer.

There is high-speed wireless internet. The laundry facility is inside the complex. The bathroom is clean and tidy. There will be towels and bedsheets. **You are requested to use only unscented products here. ** I provide shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soap.

The kitchen is equipped with stove, oven, fridge, toaster, coffee grinder, kettle, blender and lots of pots and pans and dishes, and there is space for your groceries. There is a 24-hr store within a minute walk, a few supermarkets and East End China Town only a few blocks away.

If you have a car, it might be possible to reserve you a parking spot near the house for $65-70/month. Talk to me if you need this.

Laundry facility is in the complex and you get an access key for that too.

The complex has 24-hr on-call service for emergencies. I also have really good neighbours who can be called on if you need assistance. And I'm only an email away myself.

Regent Park is a rapidly gentrifying neighbourhood. The new Regent Park Aquatic Centre with a lovely large pool, and the Regent Park Community Recreation Centre with its state-of-the-art gym are within 3-7 minutes walk from the house. Both have free access.

Regent Park Cultural Centre, Centre for Social Innovation, and Native Arts Theatre are all within 3 minutes walk from the house.

My house is a short ride or walk from Dundas Square, in a diverse, multi-cultural, family-oriented, queer-positive, safe neighbourhood. Ryerson University, University of Toronto, George Brown College, Ontario College of Art and Design, Eaton Centre, Dundas Square, Financial District, Leslieville, Beaches, Little Italy, Little India, West End China Town, Kensington Market, Danforth and Greek Town, Art Gallery of Ontario and Royal Ontario Museum are all within a short and straight streetcar ride from the house (or 15-30 minutes walk if you want to exercise as you enjoy the sights:)

From here a few minutes' walk will take you to the large, hilly and green Riverdale Park, the Riverdale Farm (where you can get fresh eggs every morning) and the historic Cabbagetown District. If you like to jog and explore you can get to the Lower Don bike and foot trail along the river in about five minutes. A new addition to the neighbourhood is a large aquatic centre with a great pool less than 5 minutes walk from the house. There are a couple of small yoga studios also within easy walking distance.

You can reach diverse restaurants, eateries, bars, two big grocery stores, pharmacies and health food stores within 5-10 minutes walk. There are several small flower and fruit shops 3 blocks away in East End China Town. There are also two public libraries within 3 blocks of the house. Artsy Distillery District, funky Queen East, the vibrant gay village, beautiful Allan Gardens and historic East End China Town are all within easy walking distance. There is a very nice wi-fi equipped free-trade coffee roastery and shop within 5 minutes walk where you can hang out and read or work while you sip coffee. If you're into hard-core coffee and hobnobbing with some of Toronto's own writers and artists, Jet Fuel is only a few blocks from the house.

The house is very easily accessible and the area well-served by public transit. There are 4 major streetcar routes, two of them with 24-hr service, within 1-5 minutes from the house. Single adult fares are $3.00. You will find more info on Toronto Transit Commission's website.

Two blocks west, at Parliament and Dundas, there is a BIXI bike rental station. A 24-hour subscription is $5.00, and a 72-hour is $12.00. Once you buy a subscription, you can use the Bixi bikes to ride around the downtown area and park them at any Bixi station. The first 30 minutes of each ride are free, and then additional charges apply.

This is a fast developing neighbourhood and there is lots of construction around (like everywhere else in downtown Toronto). Sometimes traffic is heavy on the main streets, but nothing that affects the street we're on.

Toronto is cold in winter but there'll be lots to do. Find out weekly schedule of all (EMAIL HIDDEN)

Instructions for caring for the cat can be found in the house. Also, there will be other house-care info and emergency numbers. Please read these carefully. My contact number is also on the info sheet so you may contact me if you have questions.

Please respect the space as you'd like someone to respect your own space. The idea is to maintain an environment that fosters health and well-being. You'll get the house key and the internet password upon checking in.

When you arrive, please do settle in and make yourself at home. Keep shoes in the entryway.

This is a living environment with beautiful plants and a healthy friendly cat. Their presence fills the space with good energy and calm. Enjoy your time with them and care for them as they do for you. No other pets.

You will find scent-free shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion which should last you for some time. There will also be suggestions as to where to get more or other products you may need. For optimum health of all, **this is a scent-free house.** You are requested not to bring and use artificially scented personal care and cleaning products inside the house (nor outside the house because traces will be brought in). Anything that lists 'perfume' or 'fragrance' as ingredient is unsafe for us and for the environment. These products include: deodorants, perfumes and colognes, shampoos and conditioners, detergents, soaps, hair sprays and gels, make-up, etc. Unscented versions of all of these products can easily be found in the same stores. Please contact me if you have any questions about this.

There are grocery stores nearby. To keep critters and bugs away, keep all food in closed containers in the kitchen and eat in dining areas only. Keep bedroom clean and crumbs-free for sleeping.

Be healthy, be safe, be well: Be absolutely smoke-free and drug-free everywhere in the house.

Enjoy the quiet and calm atmosphere of the house and be considerate toward the neighbours. Noisy parties are not fun for neighbours.

Be kind to the cleaning staff and keep the house clean as you go to enhance your well-being. Be well and enjoy your stay.

Leave the furniture where they are. Do not re-organize or take indoor furniture on the balcony. Also, balcony furniture stay on the balcony. Do not bring them inside.

Keep the beauty of the house and do not add or remove anything from the walls. Don't use any nails or tape to put things up on the walls.

You are welcome to use the house phone only for **local calls** but please do not give the number out to people you do not know or to businesses.

I welcome and respond to all inquiries within a day.

I'm an energetic, funky, world-conscious, environmentally-conscious, health-conscious independent artist, curator and writer. I've lived in three countries and traveled many more, and I have a genuine interest in people and places.

I live in a two-bedroom townhouse in downtown Toronto. I offer a fully set-up bright and sunny room (when the sun is out) with an attached balcony. My house is smoke-free, drug-free, and scent-free. There is a beautiful, friendly and healthy cat living with me.
