Julia and David's house in North Vancouver was absolutely perfect for our two week stay. It's a beautifully presented, clean and modern home in a safe and quiet part of an established North Vancouver neighbourhood.
We were welcomed on arrival and shown around the house and outside spaces. This gave us real confidence that we had a made a great choice. Everything had been beautifully prepared for our arrival and the house manual supported us with information that made our stay very straightforward.
Experiencing the noise and bustle of downtown Vancouver, we found that staying in the relative calm of North Vancouver afforded us the perfect opportunity to relax but still have the options of great restaurants, shops and visitor attractions nearby. The house is perfectly located for Lynn Canyon Park, Capilano Suspension Bridge, Grouse Mountain and Lonsdale Quay Market. All of these are a short drive or bus journey. There is also a supermarket within 5 minutes walk (yes, we're British and we walk to places as well!) and also a selection of local shops and takeaway restaurants in the same complex. North Vancouver is the perfect starting point for a day trip to Whistler - you can be out of the city in 10 minutes.
Getting to Downtown Vancouver took a little more planning but the Sea Bus was good value at weekends and crossing over Lions Gate Bridge to Stanley Park was easy outside of morning and evening rush hours.
We stayed in regular communication with Julia during our stay. She was quick to answer our questions by email and gave us local contacts if we needed extra help. This is the first time that we have stayed in someone's own ‘day to day’ home and our experience was extremely positive. Excellent wifi and televisions kept us entertained during the evenings. The perfectly equipped kitchen allowed us to cook and prepare meals when we weren't out and about. It's a beautiful house that is clearly loved by Julia and her family.
We had a fantastic two weeks in North Vancouver with no problems - just wonderful times. We couldn't have made a better choice and I'm really grateful to Julia and David for giving us the chance to stay in their beautiful home.
