Your private 1-BR apartment occupies the entire lower level of my home, with your own separate entrance. A patio runs the length of the house, where you can sit and enjoy the gardens, the birds and the country-like quiet. A hammock awaits under the willow tree during warm weather.
Inside, there is one bedroom with queen bed, extra blankets, an overhead fan, an armoire and ample closet space with hangers, with a door onto the patio. An ironing board and iron are available. The bath has double sinks and a large shower, a hair dryer, soaps, shampoo and hair conditioner, body lotions, and extra toothbrushes and toothpaste. There is a large sitting area with comfortable sofa and chairs, an overhead fan, a large flat-screen TV with cable, rocking chairs, lots of books, a three-sided gas fireplace for cold weather, and a second door to the patio. The kitchen and dining room have a refrigerator, double stainless sinks, a coffee maker, microwave, toaster, stove, CD player, dining table and chairs, an overhead fan, dishes, utensils and flatware, and a third door to the patio. Wifi is available.
When you arrive you'll find fresh fruit, yogurt, delicious coffee, a selection of teas, home-baked bread, and orange juice. If you have any special requests for a continental breakfast please let me know.

I'll be nearby in case you have questions or need anything, and will respect your privacy unless you ask. And if you ask, I'll be glad to offer tips and suggestions for the many great places to see, things to do and places to eat and drink in Asheville. I have two sweet dogs (Springer Spaniel and mixed rescue) who will also respect your privacy by staying with me upstairs or in the back yard to play.
My home is in a quiet country-like setting with large lots, minimal traffic, mature trees, lots of birds and other creatures, and pleasant neighbors. It is a 10-minute drive to downtown Asheville with its many shops, restaurants and cultural activities; 10 minutes to UNCA; 15 minutes to the Blue Ridge Parkway; 20 minutes to the Biltmore House.
You will need your own car, as there is no bus service within walking distance. If you bring a bicycle, there are many kindred spirits you'll see enjoying the roads in the area, especially along the nearby French Broad River. Large groups of cyclists often pass the house on the weekends, zooming past on the long downhill from the top of the ridge. Uber and private taxi companies provide cab service.
The queen bed will comfortably accommodate two people. The sofa or an inflatable bed could accommodate an older child or third adult, subject to advance discussion.
Please, no outside guests without prior notification.

Hi, there, I'm Marilyn.
I've lived in Asheville for 15 years, and it deserves its reputation as a great place to live - lots of music, arts, beautiful mountains, charming downtown, wonderful restaurants. Oh, and wonderful people! All of which makes it a great place to visit too!
I like to travel, garden, practice yoga, read, cook, play with my two dogs, and chocolate is my favorite food. I take classes at the university, occasionally paint watercolors, and really enjoy meeting the nice people who've stayed here through Airbnb!
