Description

Light, bright & fresh, with beautiful views over Porthmeor Beach. 22 The Meadow is the perfect base from which to explore the best of St.Ives - including The Tate Gallery, Porthmeor Beach Cafe and St.Ives Surf School, all just a few sandy steps from your front door.

22 The Meadow is a first floor apartment situated near Porthmeor Beach in St.Ives. Porthmeor is one of the finest beaches in Cornwall, renowned for its beautiful sunsets and great surfing and the Tate Gallery is our neighbour. Its location gives you easy access to all the other lovely local beaches, restaurants, bars & shops within the town.
The apartment benefits from a great little outside space that is shared with our neighbours downstairs. There is a decked area with a table and benches, perfect for your morning coffee or a cold beer as the sun goes down..! Plus an outside shower for rinsing off after a day at the beach.
The property is accessed up a flight of stairs on the first floor which gives you great sea views over the roof tops. There is a small hallway that leads off to the bathroom, which has a bath with an electric shower. Guest towels are provided. In the lounge / living room the dining table sits neatly in the corner leading to a fully equipped galley style kitchen. There is also a blue tooth speaker for you to connect to, so you can play your own tunes. We supply complimentary tea, coffee & sugar. Off the lounge is a double bedroom with built in wardrobe.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any problems or issues.

St.Ives is famous for many things: art, surfing, fishing and most of all, its clear blue sea and golden beaches, which stretch round the bay for miles. Rich in culture and history, it's home to an array of galleries, from the Tate to
Barbara Hepworth's perfectly preserved museum and garden to contemporary collections at The New Craftsman, The Belgrave and the Plumbline. If you are feeling energetic make the most of the outdoors with surfing, stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking ( lessons and board hire are available on Porthmeor Beach just a stones throw away ) or hike your way along the striking coastline to the pretty village of Zennor, where you can reward yourself with lunch at The Gurnards head. Alternatively just take a stroll around 'The Island' where you may catch a glimpse of the seals & dolphins. St.Ives has a thriving food scene, whether you're looking for simple fish and chips done well ( Try Harbour Fish and Chips ) or creative modern cooking, which can be found at the award winning Porthminster Beach Cafe, or its sister restaurant Porthminster Kitchen on the harbour front. There is also Porthmeor beach Cafe Bar, great for breakfast or evening tapas, The Seafood Cafe, Porthgwidden Beach Cafe and Caffe Pasta, to name but a few. If you want to venture further afield, The Eden Project or The Minack Theatre, and St Michael's Mount on the south coast are must sees, or head to Tremanere sculpture garden, Trebah or The Lost Gardens of Heligan to experience the beautiful sub-tropical planting that's unique to this part of Cornwall.

St.Ives is served by both a train and bus service. If you are arriving by train the station is about a 15 minute walk on the flat to the apartment, the bus station is roughly the same distance. Taxis are readily available at both bus and train station but if you would like to pre book one we would recommend Ace Cars - (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). Ask to be dropped at the Tate Gallery as there is no vehicular access to the property.

The Tate Gallery is closed at the present time for renovation work.

Amanda was a wonderful host and her apartment was the perfect place for our weekend break in picturesque St Ives. Beautifully decorated, well equipped and comfortable and with spectacular sea views! A stone's throw from the Tate and some superb beach-side cafes and restaurants, Amanda's apartment is in a fantastic location within an easy stroll of all shops and amenities but situated in a quiet area so that the gentle lull of the waves isn't interrupted by the main thrust of the town. We had a fabulous time and wouldn't hesitate to come back. Thank you!

We spent 4 days at Amanda's place. This was our first time at St Ives and the flat was the perfect launch pad to our discovery of this lovely town. The views of Porthmeor beach from the flat are amazing. It is literally a few steps away from the Tate gallery. No other words but 'perfect'.

Highly recommend this place! Amanda is a great host who provided thorough communication. The apartment is divine; a fashionable space, wonderfully comfortable bed and pillows, considerately outfitted for guests, and perfectly clean. The view of the beach from this place is breathtaking to wake up to each morning. Quiet and away from sounds of the public, yet easy accessibility to all the best areas of St. Ives including shops, restaurants, beaches, and pubs. We hope to stay here again in the future!

Lovely apartment right next to Tate St. Ives with great views of the sea. Beach less than 2 minutes away. Great cafe on the sea front. We had a wonderful artistic long weekend Tate, Barbara Hepworth, Leach Pottery and lots of local galleries. Great wildlife, we saw a large group of seals!

Highly recommended. It is just like the photos! Right in the middle of town. Close to everything beautiful set up, magnificent views of the bay over the roof tops. The walk from the car park is well worth it. Try to travel light, not like us with 2x20 kg cases from Melbourne. A delightful spot won't be forgotten in a hurry. Thanks Amanda
