À propos de ce logement
This rustic, antique Javanese wood house is a part of Casa Serenita and shares a large kitchen/dining/living space and a 11-meter-long pool (and two cats) with the master bedroom in a separate building. A rare opportunity to experience cozy quietness in a large open space.
This is a part of Villa Casa Serenitá (please see https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/945721 for the listing of the villa). An antique Javanese wood house transported from Java, it is full of rustic charm with modern comfort.
Villa Casa Serenitá is located in the popular village of Nyuh Kuning (yellow coconut), just south of Ubud, a mere 15-minute walk through the Monkey Forest. The villa is built on a spacious slope overlooking a small river valley and lush green jungle view. Despite the closeness to central Ubud, the property is secluded and serene. No sounds of passing vehicles can be heard - all you hear are birds, frogs, geckoes, and the gentle streaming of the river below - thus we named it Casa Serenitá, House of Serenity.
The villa is comprised of four separate buildings: a master bedroom with a half-outdoor bathroom (bathtub, rain shower, and two sinks), a second bedroom is a Gladak (this listing)—an antique Javanese wood house transported from Java, a complete kitchen/dining/living space that is shared by the two bedrooms, and a traditional Balinese-style gazebo in which to sit and relax. There also is a 2.5m x 11m swimming pool in the garden. (Please see the last photo which shows the layout of these buildings.)
※ You can also rent the master bedroom only (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/16617761) or the entire villa (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/945721).
Casa Serenitá is maintained and managed by friendly staff from the village - a full-time gardener, a night-time security, a part-time house caretaker, and a manager who can assist you in many ways during your stay.
The villa was built with one thing in mind - harmony and integration with nature. The design is traditional and authentic Balinese bale style architecture, completely open to and part of the beauty of the surrounding nature. It does not aim to be super-deluxe or unnecessarily stylish. Rather, it is a down-to-earth, simple and comfortable nest for those who want to be as close to nature as one possibly can be, while still enjoying all the modern comfort and convenience in total tranquility. This is a perfect space for a writer's retreat, meditation, yoga and other spiritual/inner work, or just to unwind and relax.
There are two female cats that live on the property, Winona (aka Nona) and Alice (aka Ali). They are friendly and cuddly, and roam freely on the land. They are taken care of by our staff and there is nothing you need to do, but if you have severe cat allergy, maybe it is not a good idea to stay here.
The price includes breakfast. Airport pickup/dropoff is available for a separate fee.
As a rule of thumb, check-in is 3 PM and check-out is 11 AM. However, this can be flexible depending on the previous/next guest's schedule.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions.

Hi, I am Ni Made Naoko, the owner of Casa Serenitá.
I am a book translator and I divide my time between Tokyo, Bali and Seattle. My love affair with Bali started back in 1990. I have returned for visits over the years and built relationship with this very special village, Nyuh Kuning, just south of Ubud. In 2012, after 10 years of planning, a house was finally built on a very special, secluded piece of land overlooking the river.
I am unable to live in Bali all year round, and therefore, offer this house for visitors while I am not there. Hope you will come and stay - and enjoy the beauty of old-style Bali in the serenity.
