This very uniquely decorated Studio Apartment is located right downtown in Kailua-Kona, HI at the Islander Inn. Our grounds and ambience are un-surpassed by any other condo complex in our area. It is like walking along the paths in old Hawaii. The owner of this condo has always wanted to own a submarine so the studio has been decorated to look and feel like you are in your own private submarine living space. Right down to the huge windows that look out to beautiful coral reefs and even a "surprise swimmer".
This is the only condo in this complex to have a dishwasher, full size refrigerator/freezer with an icemaker and a walk in pantry in the fully equipped kitchen. We have a Nu-Wave induction cooktop with pans to cook meals along with a convection/microwave oven for full cooking and baking. There is a large grill for making pancakes and bacon for breakfast. Naturally there is a blender for your tropical smoothies and drinks and a full set of dishes and flatware, glasses and stemware. If you have it at home, chances are that you will have it here as well. The Murphy bed folds out of the wall at night for comfortable sleeping and is put away in the day to allow you to have a living-room to entertain your friends and family. The bathroom has a tiled shower and a vanity with a storage cabinet for all your toiletries to be stored. The closet has mirrored sliding doors and there is even a ceiling fan above your head to keep you comfortable while you get ready to walk down town for dinner and drinks or to stroll across the street to watch the sun set over the ocean. The lanai is newly tiled. It also has a fan mounted on the ceiling to keep the air moving if you decide to dine or lounge around and enjoy the sights and smells of the lush gardens that surround your lanai.
The living-room has a new couch that also makes into a pull out bed for the children at night. It has storage under the chaise lounge end and is very comfortable to sit on as well as to sleep on. There is a 42" flat screen TV and this room also has a ceiling fan to help circulate the air conditioned air if you choose to use the air con. This unit is set up and maintained for short term and/or long term guests. It is truly a one of a kind rental in the perfect downtown location. Quiet and serene but yet centrally located. So convenient, you can even forget the added expense of renting a car if you so choose. The dining and dancing and night life are within walking distance and it is recommended that you do indeed walk to their locations for obvious reasons.
There are buses that will take you to the snorkel beach and various shopping locations and you can even take one to the opposite side of the Island.
Kona is the desert side of the Island and it seldom rains during the day time hours. Even if we get daytime rain, it is warm rain and no lightning or thunder is present. I have been here 14 years and have seen those conditions only 3 times during freak storms.
There is free onsite parking on a first come/first served basis. There is additional parking at $5 per night across Alii Drive next to Bubba Gumps.
Absolutely n smoking anywhere on the complex grounds and a $300 fine if you break this rule.
No animals allowed with the exception of service animals and there are two on property.
No alcohol, glass or music in the pool area or any other common area.
No children under 14 in the Hot Tub and no one with open sores or wounds allowed
Children must be accompanied by an adult when in the pool area. No diving or bombing or floatation devices are allowed
The pool area is open from 8 AM to 10 PM but occasionally may need to be closed for unexpected clean-up caused by accidental misuse. There is no life Guard on duty and swimming is at your own risk.
