Stayed for 2 nights. Family of 4 adults (2 elders). Occupied the ground floor room and upstairs 'spiral staircase' room. First impression of the area was quite distasteful. It is part of a stretch of old rundown shoplots with lorries and abandoned construction stuff. The shoplots here are either unoccupied or occupied with factories keeping their goods. Neighbour to the unit is a butcher freezing storeroom (assuming by the lorry they drive). Quite noisy during the day cause that is when they load/unload their stuff and the drivers are loud too when communicating with each other. Could be quite scary at times. The unit itself is as per pictured on the website. However.. 1. There is many power switches (some work and some don't) - certain main bulbs don't work or flickers. 2. First night stay, the kitchen gives out this 'burned battery' smell (we did not cook anything throughout the stay) - apparently one of the ceiling switch got burned and the smell was very nauseating (it was throughout the whole kitchen/living area). Frank came to have a look and mentioned someone will come in the next day. (FYI the smell didn't go away for 2 days!) 3. Next morning someone came and said that management told them there was 'ants issue'. We have no clue where did the miscommunication started (perhaps they misheard that it is 'fans issue'). Then they left. Afterwards, we went out (early noon).. 4. When we went out, I messaged Logen to bring hair dryer and bathroom mat (for the upstairs bathroom) since it is not available in the unit and told him specifically to leave it at the spiral staircase cause we were out.. He agreed. 5. We came back at night and noticed that the kitchen light was on (note that we follow strictly owners guidance on having to close all power supply before guests leave). Also my request as per note 4 was early noon and was expecting they would come around that time and not at night. So to see that the kitchen lights are on was pretty scary. 6. As per note 4 above, I was looking at the spiral staircase for the items that Logen agreed to leave there but I saw none. Hence I texted him again. Waited for about 15mins and he requested one of the worker from Green Ocean came to give the bathroom mat. While waiting as I went up to the room I noticed that the hairdryer was at the dressing table (hmmm but my request was quite clear?) 7. When the worker came, I asked did you came just now to put the dryer? He said yes. Then I asked, did Logen ask you to put at spiral staircase, he said yes also. (hmmm then why did you go up? Note: his English command is quite poor) 8. I also asked Logen who came in to on the kitchen light? Apparently Frank came to fix the switches (refer note 2) late in...

If you don't mind an out of town stay, this house has great design and architecture. The first and second floor is accessible, while the third floor is the owner's room. I love how they have an 'outdoor' place to chill by the front. The morning breeze there was really nice. Also it's a 5 minutes walk to the beach to relax and catch the sunrise. Very reasonably priced. Will definitely come back again.

Book this place unless you have a car. Be prepared for the noise because it's a shop house.

Thank you for your feedback. Location - The property is advertised as located near the beach in Batu Ferringhi, so most guests arrives by car. Those who don't have their own cars travel by Uber and bus and find it convenient. Ant - most gustes are aware that ants are part of live in Malaysia (unless one lives in a high rise building) and we avoid leaving sweet things around. Your comments are noted and we will take extra care. Shower - the electric shower is a special high grade obe operated by pressure pump to give extra power. The down side is that it is a little noiser but no other guests have commented on this. Air-conditioner compressor - again, most houses have air-con compressors outside the windows. Most people understand that. We appreciate that you love the design, TQ.

Stayed at Oiduts's place for two nights. Everything is as you see in the pictures. Lovely place to stay if you are a family of 4 or more. Checking in and out was a breeze and Frank and team were easy to communicate with as well. Will definitely reconsider staying at Oiduts's place again if we ever return to Penang.

A diamond in the rough. The location of this place may not be everyone's cup of tea as its neighbours are industrial shoplots. However, if you could look past that, you will find a very nice surprise as you step inside. High ceilings, a natural skylight with indoor garden, and modern steel glass rooms awaits.

Hi Tammy, Thank you for your review. It is stated in our Airbnb.com page that the upper floor is the owner's private residence. Also indicated in the amenities that no hair dryer is provided. It can also be seen from the photos that the architectural design is based on an open and transparent concept, which all the guests that has stayed at OIDUTS love.
