Howland House Cottage is authentic Venice. In fact, Howland canal was named for our family. Built originally in the 1920s and owned by 5 generations of family, it has been modernized for today's comforts and needs. This is a very peaceful, quiet, and tranquil residential area of west Venice Beach, yet it is close enough to all the action of Abbot Kinney and intrigue of the Venice Boardwalk or surfing at the beach. I am also a Rams season ticket holder with seats just 9 rows from the field near the 25 yard line. I have tickets available for sale if you wish to attend a game.

- Please smoke your cigarettes outdoors. Marijuana can be smoked indoors (it is legal now, of course).

- No parties or wedding receptions or large events.
- Backyard is a community area with small groups staying in the Howland House, which is a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom house located at the front of the property. If you have a large group you can book both simultaneously for your vacation.
-No film shoots or events like wedding parties or birthday parties without making special arrangements. The price is higher for filming or hosting events at the Howland House property.
- No large groups. This cottage is only made for 1-2 people.
- All guests should identify themselves with the property manager, Gabe, at the time of rental request. Please message him with group details.
-The bikes in the backyard are available for guests to use.
-Guests must stay a minimum of 8 nights for laundry access. You must use your own detergent and supplies.
-Additional guests must be paid for! There is a charge of $15 per day per guest. You are not allowed to have more people on the property than what you have paid for on your reservation. If your reservation says 8 guests, then you may no more than 8 guests at a given time on the property. If a friend comes to spend the night, have dinner, enjoy the backyard, or even hang out and talk for a little they are considered a guest and a $15 fee will be requested of you. This house is a business and its inhabitants must pay for the pleasure of its enjoyment. No freeloaders. Thank you for your understanding and honesty.
My name is Gabriel. I own and operate an independent comic book company called Human Comics that is located here in the famous, beautiful, eclectic Venice Beach, California. The Howland House that you see in the pictures is where I was born and raised, and yes, I take pride in being a homegrown Venice Beach local. I am the great grandson of John Howland and Vera Habberton Howland, for whom the Howland Canal in Venice Beach was named. They were close personal friends with Abbott Kinney (founder of Venice Beach) and his wife Margaret, and are buried in adjacent grave plots at Woodlawn Cemetery in Santa Monica. I have deep roots in this beach city, and I would like to invite you to enjoy my home and live the good life here in beautiful Venice Beach.
