conveniently located between Eugene and the coast, near hiking trails and right on a pretty creek. Linda was very responsive and answered all of my questions. Smooth arrival and departure process.

Great stay, we took a trip to Kentucky Falls the next day from here and loved it. Linda and Steve were very communicative and helpful.

Our stay with Linda was my second time, and while short, it was amazing. I am working my way through all of her listings. ;) Hospitable as usual, she is a great host, and the listing is very peaceful.

I loved my two nights at Thoreau's Cabin. Linda came to show me around when I first arrived and then let me have the personal retreat I had come for. This is a great spot to both relax and explore. I definitely hope to come back to watch the Salmon go upstream in winter :).

Absolutely lovely people, very warm, and Linda went out of her way to engage with our kids and make them feel special. Really big outdoor deck where I decided to sleep under the stars. The meandering creek is a sweet respite on hot summer days. The outdoor shower works great, and the propane burners are hefty and hot. You will be using a porta-potty, but it's clean and perfectly fine. Sweet hosts, sweet forested surroundings. We plan to return…maybe to see the salmon run upstream in the winter.

We booked last minute due to work constraints and were fortunate that this rustic cabin in the woods was available. Linda and Steve were away during our stay, but they left a lovely note making us feel very welcome and the cabin was aglow with few LED tea light candles upon our late arrival. We enjoyed all aspects of the space from the pleasure of whipping up feasts on the outdoor cooking space to sipping morning coffee around the crackling fire whilst trying to spot the owl that we could hear but not quite see. The kitchen had a full size fridge and all the utensils one could need to create many a scrumptious meal on the outdoor fire after a day of hiking. We only wished we could have stayed on longer...

Hi! I am a Retired Eugene 4jTeacher and current UO instructor. My husband, Steve, is a builder/carpenter. We are both naturalists and trained in outdoor education and connections with the natural world. For the last decade, through our own school, Campsight, we have shared instructional experiences and inspiring adventure at our precious lands here in Walton on Chickahominy Creek. We are continued students of the wilderness that surrounds us daily in this incredible Coast Range environment. It is our passion to share it's wonders, beauty, and the revitalizing magic. It is our hope that those who find us via the Bed and Breakfast option, will (re)discover the simple joys of earth-time and nature immersion!

*ARIZONA Addition! Our Rimrock canyon county home is now offered only on AIR BNB! Linda is an Arizona Native and Steve is a former NAU Student who conducted research for Museum of N. AZ in extensive Grand Canyon Studies. Too, he has been a river guide on the Colorado River. Linda is a 4th generation Arizonan. We deeply honor and respect the sacredness of this natural WONDERland!! OH! And Steve, along with help of Linda's talented family built this home with Much Love, Skill, and lots of labor! It shows ;-)
