We won't be in town when the house is rented, but please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. In addition to English, we speak French and German and would be happy to help you with tips and tricks about the town we love.
Picturesque, idyllic, charming; it is possible to use all the guide books clichees when discribing Risør - and get away with it. This coastal town is a heritage preserved wooden town that offers cultural festivals, a large archipelago and a long history of wooden boat building.
The town is centered around the bustling harbour, and opens itself up to the sea. Our house is nestled away from the sometimes windy weather. As Risør is oriented to the east, there are not many houses in the center bathed in evening sun. As our house is situated on a little hill, it quite uniquely offers sun until 22 in June/July!
Arriving by bus, the house is easily available by foot.
There is a big parking lot not far from the house (Tjenna) that offers parking at NOK 20 per day.
The path and the stairs in front of the house are public, this means that people can stroll by close to your doorstep. Please embrace this unique feature by greeting bypassers. Risør has a lot of small public pathways, and it's important to keep them open to everyone!
The pathway access also means that the surroundings feel like a calm oasis, even though you are very close to all the services of the town.
