Amazing, breathtaking views...not exaggerating here, the view is mesmerizing. You get a view of the town of San Juan Del Sur, the bay, the Pacific Ocean in all its expanse and the Costa Rican mountains. You’ll love the place because of the outdoors space and the location. The home is good for couples, solo adventurers, small groups, families with older children and business travellers.
Please note air conditioning is in Bedroom 2 (king bed) and bedroom 3 (double bed and a twin) The master bedroom has great air flow from the Papagayos Winds that are almost a constant at this cliffside home. Olas Bravas offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and San Juan del Sur Bay. Swim and relax in your private infinity pool as you listen to the waves below or watch cruise ships, sailboats and fishing vessels enter the harbour.
San Juan del Sur enjoys breezes (called Papagayos Winds), that provide cooling comfort. The home was insulated and architecturally designed to maximize the benefit of wind, but we recently added air conditioning to two of the rooms to try to accommodate guest suggestions.
San Juan del Sur offers numerous opportunities for deep sea fishing, (we do have a panga and a captain that can take you out on the water for a fee) surfing is nearby and canopy tours. Local day trips are available to enjoy the artisanal ceramics and textiles typical of Nicaragua, volcano trekking, zip-lining and visits to Spanish colonial sites. The ferry to Ometepe is about a 45 minute drive (outside Rivas) and worth a day trip. We are 15 to 20 minutes to Playa Maderas (to the North) for bigger waves and about 15 to 20 minutes to the popular beach of Playa Remanso, great for learning to surf. Each of these beaches have oceanside restaurants and surf board rentals with instructors. Playa Marcella is close by, to the North (before Playa Maderas) and offers a nice bay for paddleboarding and kayaking.
Many pristine beaches and national parks where turtles nest are located nearby.
Accès des voyageurs
Guests have the house to themselves. There are two caretakers living on site. They do daily cleaning and for a fee will cook for you. They are very kind and helpful people. They also will do your laundry. We require that you sign a contract with us prior to your stay.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
Caretakers are on site in a separate home.
The walk to town is fun and quick (20 minutes) when the tide is out. When the tide is in you will need to travel by the road instead of the beach. We recommend having a vehicle or an side-by-side ATV (available for rent in town) to get to local beaches and back and forth to town.
No parties and no extra guests. Please
do not run the air conditioning during the day or when you aren't home. Power is very expensive.
