We'll take our queue from you as to how much interaction you'd prefer!
As full-time student/teacher, business owner, and chronically busy thirty-somethings, guests will likely run into us in the early mornings or late evenings. We often work from home or at local coffee shops nearby.
Tim and I are avid food and beverage lovers! We'll be happy to offer tips on the best places to eat and drink. Since we are originally from the West Coast, we are familiar with showing people around Durham and can offer suggestions for touring, visiting Duke, and seeing some of our incredible city.
We are also totally comfortable with guests who prefer to keep to themselves or are very busy!
Duke Park is a beautiful area full of historic homes tucked amongst beautiful forests. Our home is within walking distance (15 min walk) of grocery stores, restaurants and a few bars. Fullsteam brewery, MotorCo, Cocoa Cinnamon are only a 5 min drive away (or a $4 Uber!).
The Durham Data bus is across the street from our house and is very user friendly! Uber/Lyft is also highly used and very affordable in this area ($4 most anywhere downtown!).
Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate guests with dogs or cats
Ideal for responsible adult couples, or individuals.
We are very flexible on check-in and check-out times, as long as your booking is not back-to-back with other guests because we will need time to get the house ready. We will touch base with you if that is the case. If the calendar is tight, we ask that checkout be before noon, and check-in after 3pm.
SMOKING - OUTSIDE ONLY
This is a non-smoking home. We humbly request that smokers partake outside, and clean up their butts.
Like most homes on Airbnb, we ask that you clean up after yourselves in general and do your own dishes.
- Guests may smoke outside

I've lived in Durham for four years now, but grew up in Seattle. Durham is the first place I've lived outside of Seattle that has really felt like home. I love how passionate the city is about its food, environment, education and dogs (Durham really loves its dogs!). My partner Tim and I love discovering new bars, restaurants or picnic spots around town. We are also always keeping our ear to the ground for new places to visit, camping sites and hiking trails. I'm always happy to hear a good tip and thoroughly enjoy sharing what I've found with interested guests.
I LOVE traveling, gardening, good food and wine. At home, I spend time reading and playing with my two dogs, Ellie & Oliver. Currently, I'm pursuing my doctorate degree in order to teach. I speak a little French and am always trying to learn more languages. I love people, learning, exploring, and we are both very laid back, flexible and carefree.
Tim runs a local coffee truck in town, Caffe Bellezza, and is incredibly passionate about his craft. You will often find him tucked away reading about new brewing methods, coffee farms, and roasting techniques. I'm sure you will find this reflected in both the coffee we provide as well as the equipment options for brewing (pour over, Clever, Infusion, Mocha Pot, Aeropress, french press, etc).
As hosts we make every effort to make our guests' trips run as smoothly and successfully as possible. I love providing recommendations, Tim loves brewing coffee, our dogs love lots of love and attention and our chickens provide lots of fresh eggs. We take our queues for interaction from our guests and their desires and needs. We will happily let you come and go as you please or sit down and chat over a cup of coffee!
As travelers, Tim and I are extremely respectful, easy going and have a true passion for exploring and eating. As hosts, we understand well what it means to be a great guest!
