This is a fully furnished duplex accommodation, with 3 bedrooms with walk-in closets, 3 bathrooms, 1 living / dining rooms, 1 lovely terrace and 1 veranda for a total of about 260 square metres. Every room is equipped with an independent air-conditioning unit controlled by a remote. The open spaces are equipped with fans. The accommodation is part of the Amani Sea Resort, located within walking distance from Watamu village. It has 2 secured gates, one from the main road and one at the beach front. There are 2 swimming pools on your way to the beach. The smaller pool closer to the beach is cooler than the bigger 20 metres pool being the former more exposed to the ocean breeze. in between the two pools, you can have a closer look at the altar of a 12th century Swahili mosque part of Gede ruins. On the beach, you have your sun beds and a shadowed place in case. Beach boys will not approach you if you are lying on the sun beds. The tennis court on a well compacted sandy soil is at your disposal at the back of the compound. The court is illuminated so you can also play after dark.

You have full exclusive use of the entire house as well as full access to all facilities of the resort.

Rennis is your maid and she will do her best to make you happy. She is your first port of entry for any question you may have. On the basis of your specific booking requests, you may have a second maid, one or two babysitters and one or two cooks. Rennis and the accompanying staff are at your total disposal throughout the day. In the compound, you will also see a number of guards (Askaris) in light brown, maintenance staff in dark brown, gardeners in green and pool and beach attendants in blue. They are here for you. All staff in Amani goes through compulsory medical check every 6 months. You can also talk to the owner at any time, if need be.

Watamu, in local Swahili language, means "sweet people". It is a fishermen village on the coast of the Indian Ocean at about 150 km north of Mombasa and 25 km south of Malindi. It has grown into a lovely beach resort over the years. The village has all you need: two small supermarkets, a number of curio and souvenir dealers, a butchery, fishmongers, banks and forex, post office, two doctors' clinics, a western hairdresser, many restaurants, a casino, bars, night clubs and several roadside eateries. Watamu Marine Park was the first to be established in Kenya back in 1968. The adjacent Arabuko Sokoke Forest is the largest indigenous coastal forest remaining in East Africa. It also hosts the ancient Gede ruins. The whole area is declared a UN Biosphere Reserve.

A private guarded parking lot is at your disposal. Our driver will pick you up at the airport and bring you to the resort. He will be happy to drive you wherever you want during your stay. However, the easiest and cheapest local transportation mean is the tuk-tuk. It will be ready to pick you up within minutes 24/7.

Do not forget to bring with you sun cream and mosquito repellent. Don't forget also to bring your favourite music collection. We have speakers suitable for your iPad/iPod or laptop. They are easily connectible through Bluetooth, but additional cables and jacks are at your disposal just in case. If you are an eager tennis player, bring your rackets and balls. If you like snorkelling, better then to bring your own mask and flippers. At low tide, you can have a walk till the coral reef and you may need some plastic shoes to go easily through rocky sites.
