Spacious, light-filled, one-bedroom Victorian flat in the heart of London. Great value as you will have the whole flat to yourself - I'm away for work for the rest of 2017. Only a 15-minute walk to the famous Tate Modern, Borough Market and Shakespeare's Globe. Excellent transport links. Great for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers and people with an eye for a quirky, cosy flat.
Welcome to Hunter House! The bedroom is light-filled with a dual North/East aspect and views of the impressive Shard building. The bed is double and comes with a great mattress offering a good night's sleep. The kitchen is fully equipped with gas cooker, washing machine and fridge. The sitting room is spacious with a futon/couch and Sky cable TV. I have central heating throughout the apartment. There is a large bath in the bathroom for extra relaxing times. We're on the top (4th) floor and the building was built in 1899 so there's no lift. But unlike a modern, sterile flat, you will feel really at "home" here.
Queen Victoria was still alive when this block of red brick flats was built in 1899 (she died two years later). It was built for the respectable working classes of the time- when working classes were thought worthy of small design flourishes such wrought iron and simple bas reliefs on the facade of the building. She is a handsome old lady and she’s tough. Hunter House is one of the few buildings in the area to have survived the bombings of the Blitz during the Second World War. Long may she live!

I'm a writer who lives between London and Spain. I travel a lot for my work and love to use airbnb when I do. I hope that this experience has helped me become a better host and to anticipate your needs when you come and stay at my house.
Best wishes and I look forward to hosting you! ST
