We had a wonderful stay in this very welcoming, comfortable and nicely laid out house. Location was great and Margaret was easy to plan with. Looking forward to be staying here again. Lia

The neighborhood and location are fabulous. Our son loved swimming in Buck pond and we couldn't get him out! The house is comfortable and we enjoyed watching the Olympics at night. Our stay would have been 5 star with the inclusion of a few simple amenities. The price is on the high end for not including some basic amenities like beach chairs, hair dryer, bathroom soap, dishwasher soap, garbage bags and sheets and towels. Margaret was very gracious when we arrived at 10:30 P.M. on the first night without bed linens and towels due to a miscommunication. We appreciated her quick response to texts and calls and she included the linens gratis due to the miscommunication and although we were unable to take advantage of it, she offered to extend our stay for 1 night for free.

"Welcome to Cape Cod" - Rentals here by the week do not provide any of the extras. I have been renting out my houses as well as many may others for 20 years and go to book any house and there are no linens, kitchen supplies or toiletries of any kind! We were very shocked to find that no trash bags were ever purchased from the store around the corner and that all trash was in paper bags-talk about bugs and trash all over the garbage cans! What a nightmare to clean up. Of course the AC was off! Why would we leave it on in an empty house? It takes about 10 minutes to cool down each bedroom and we always ask that people don’t run them 24/7. As for the refrigerator I am very surprised to hear that as it is a priority on the cleaning list. I’m not sure what a primary home as to do with a rental……it is common practice here on the Cape to rent out one’s home during the summer. As for my husband going over to take care of the plants he had been out of town for two weeks and stopped by without me knowing. I would have certainly called, texted or emailed as always. I would like to clarify that no one stepped out of the shower in their birthday suit in front of anyone but inside the house. This makes it sound as if he were standing in the house! Yes, he knocked on the door and thought no one was home. He went around back and their son was in the kitchen so he let him know who he was (owner) and that he was watering plants. I thought this was cleared up face to face as he said you were all laughing by the time you met but I see it was way more of an issue that I thought.

Had a great time for the week we rented. It was centrally located to anything we wanted to do during our stay. My wife and I biked every morning on the Cap Code Rail Trail, which was a ten minute bike ride away. We went deep sea fishing on the Yankee II out of Harwichport and we caught 20 fish which the crew filleted for us. Have Bucks Pond on our door step was awesome and the canoe was a huge bonus. Margaret was a great host and was very responsive to any questions we had. Also, our dogs loved the fenced in yard!

My Grandfather began visiting Cape Cod as a boy in the late 1800’s and established a home in Chatham in 1934. I am a third generation “summer person” who is now proud to be a “wash-a-shore” as of 1997. I have been buying and fixing up homes for over twenty years and am currently a real estate broker here on Cape Cod.
I love to travel and see the world and don't do nearly enough. My love of Cape Cod is strong and deep and I look forward to you coming and enjoying the Cape as well.
