My home is located on 27 acres overlooking the Baie of Gaspe midway between Gaspe and Perce. The house is furnished with handmade Quebec furniture and paintings from local artists. There is one king bedroom and one queen bedroom and 1 full bath upstairs. There is a twin mattress under the king bed. There is a washer/dryer and half bath. Although there is no beach access from the house there are beaches within walking distance (1-2 miles) and an unlimited number a short drive (10-15 miles) away.

Le logement
The moment you walk into the cottage, you will feel enveloped in a Quebec coziness. The silence is meant to be enjoyed so there is no TV (please note as some people have complained about this) but lots of books and music. You can watch the spectacular views from the belvedere (a deck close to the cliff's edge) for hours on end. Although large whales can be distantly seen, you will almost certainly see small Minke whales and lots of seabirds (one of the largest gannet colonies in the world in nearby Perce/Bonaventure Island) rather close. There are 3 pair of binoculars to be sure you don’t miss anything.

The house is fully stocked with everything you need to enjoy the area including a ready-to-go picnic basket and tents for the beach. My philosophy is different from many other AirBnB spaces. It as if I am letting a good friend or family member stay in my home while I am away. Some guests have complained about there being personal belongings in the house so just be aware this is my home and not a bare AirBnB rental. Please treat this like your home and feel free to use anything you need in the kitchen or closets. If you use something up in the kitchen, please replace or put it on the grocery list for the house keeper to buy. The only request I have is to not use the alcoholic beverages (unless you are desperate but please replace).

This region has been listed as one of National Geogrphic's must see regions for a reason. See www.www.tourisme-gaspesie.com for the many things to see and do on the coast. The Gaspé Peninsula boasts four national parks and a UNESCO global geopark (the Perce Geopark). From the rugged backcountry adventuring and world-class fishing of Gaspésie National Park (Parc national de la Gaspésie) with the only herd of caribou south of the St. Lawrence, to the 8-kilometre (5-mile) Les Graves Trail at Forillon National Park (Parc national du Canada Forillon) that passes old fishing shacks and placid pebble beaches on its way to Cap Gaspé, to the 370-million-year-old fossil cliffs of Miguasha National Park (Parc national de Miguasha), these preserves are arguably the area's top destinations of any type. And, of course, worthy of special mention is the Gaspé Peninsula's marquee tourist attraction, Bonaventure Island and Percé Rock National Park (Parc national de l'Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé), which lies off the shore of its eastern tip and is comprised of Percé Rock (Rocher Percé), the iconic rock formation "pierced" through the bottom by a 15-metre (49-foot) arch, as well as Bonaventure Island (Île Bonaventure), home of the world's largest breeding colony of gannets as well as thousands upon thousands of cormorants, puffins and murres. Outside the realm of national parks, the small seaside village of Grand-Métis (about a 5 hr drive bu along the way if you are coming from Quebece Ciy) boasts the internationally-renowned Reford Gardens (Jardins de Métis), which contain 3,000 species of flowering plants — including their pride and joy, a collection of beautiful, mysterious Himalayan blue poppies — and play host each year to the International Garden Festival.

The house can be occupied in any season although winter will involve getting the drive from the highway to the house cleared. Snow is often there until mid-May. You can reach the area by flying into the Gaspe airport (YGP) or driving along the coast from Quebec City (an ~8 hr drive). Train service is intermittently available to the area (check Via Rail) or by bus.
