Very quiet, friendly & peaceful neighbour hood, with almost no crime. Very safe place for children to play outside. Point Leamington has a great bar & grill (Bottoms UP) gas station & two conveinence stores, that stock almost any item that you may need. We have three vibrant Christian Churches in our community that conduct regular Sunday services & other weekly activities, A Community/Youth Center, A Public Library, Point Leamington Academy that provides education to children ages 5 - 17 yrs. We have Canada Post & Superior Glove Works, is the main employer. We boast a beautiful large playground for our children & visitors, with two fresh clean rivers that flow into the bay, year around. Both, are the favorite and well loved swimming spots for people of all ages, during our hot hazy summers.
Point Leamington's well groomed homes are nestled around the ocean in a sheltered harbour, with about 10 other small communities within 15min to 1 hour drive. Each community has its own beautiful uniqueness, which makes it the artist and/or photographers paradise!
Visit the smal fishing villages of Leading Tickles and its "Ocean VIew Park" for hikes, Fish & Chips and its unforgettable breathtaking scenery. Stop into Jack Wards Memorial Store for an opportuntity to view or purchase local crafts & chat with the fisherman on the adjacent wharf. This is where one of the available boat tours pick up
their excited guest. Have your camera ready, since you will surely want to take those memories home! Just as you leave Leading Tickles take a 5min hop down to the little village of Glovers Harbour & meet and hear the story at the intereptation center the life size replica of the "World's Largest Giant Squid" that was seen and later pulled ashore in the 1800's by the ancestors of todays inhabitants. Then visit "May's Store" for an ice cream treat or sweet, to round off your awesome day of fresh air & new dialects.
