You can't beat this location: It's a 2-3 blocks from Santo Domingo and close to the bars, art galleries and cool restaurants, but in a quiet residential street, just outside the circle of the busy and loud sounds, so you get best of both worlds. Chicatana House is a small and charming house located in a private street that can host up to 9 people. We have 3 bedrooms upstairs sharing one bathroom. Also, downstairs there is an apartment with private bathroom. We have a small common patio with lots of plants for you to take your time and relax. Just next to the bedrooms we have a shared space where you can prepare a basic breakfast: frigo, parrila, small oven, coffe maker, kettle. And also, we offer local coffee and other basic things. We (Ita or Jude) will receive you personally most of the time and will be arround to help you. Chicatana is owned and runned by oaxacan women and you will be received as a friend.

We are always available to answer questions or give recommendations to guests by phone, (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) or Airbnb platform. We come everyday to the house to check up the spaces and if the guests are there, we are happy to talk more about recommendations or places. Also, our helper Angelina comes to clean common spaces twice per week. If you have any problem in the house (hot water, etc) please contact us and we will come as soon as possible to resolve it.
In Oaxaca, we have water shortages all year round. It is common for water to run out in Oaxacan houses and water must be purchased from private companies. Beyond the cost of buying water, is the hassle of having to wait until a full day to receive the water. Even if we have containers for water last the maximum possible, we kindly ask you that during your stay save water especially during shower. If you notice the water running out, immediately contact us.

I love to exchange life experiences with people from different cultures and places. I live in Oaxaca since two years and I love this city. I enjoy interacting with my guests, if they are willing to, and learning other ways to see the life. I have a little boy called Gabriel. I am photographer and entrepreneur. See you soon!
