Welcome to our LandfillFree AirBnb. Our community house operates on a sustainable structure and towards a goal of being completely zero waste by 2018. Our theory is that we can also operate as an ethically profitable AirBnb, and we look forward to hosting you in this experimental design.

There are two separate listings. Yours is the private room with a king bed on the left downstairs.

Le logement

This is a futon in a nook off of our downstairs living area. Our house is a warm and safe environment for travellers, and traffic is limited during quiet hours. The area is open and subject to light traffic.

The split entry home allows for great interaction among owner, caretaker, and guests. The entire downstairs is yours for living, including the den, outside fire pit, community garden and workspace area. Wifi is free and included in pricing. The downstairs bathroom has a full bath and shower and is shared among all AirBnb guests.

Our quiet hours are from 10pm to 6am. Working hours are 9am to 5pm. Guests are invited to engage as a community through all of the home during non-quiet hours, but are asked to be considerate of working hours. We insist that you do not bring alcohol onto the premises or return obviously intoxicated. Upstairs area is restricted during quiet hours.

We look forward to your stay in our Landfillfree AirBnb. As a guest you are an important part to our sustainability, and we appreciate your contribution. Thank you for helping us encourage a sustainable future.

Accès des voyageurs

The house is a split entry. To access your room enter and head left and down the stairs. There is a shared bathroom and a common area downstairs with a walk-out patio. Easy access to laundry. Shared kitchen upstairs.

Échanges avec les voyageurs

I will be on travel throughout May and June, but Leigh Ann or Shelly who live upstairs will typically be around to greet you. Neighbors Will and Jodi are serving as caretakers and will also be available to accommodate you during your stay.

Autres remarques

Please use the compost under the kitchen sink for compostables, and the dining room hatch for recyclables. This is a landfill-free home.

I've stayed here 2 times and plan to book here every time I'm in Missoula. Excellent communication, simple, clean & comfortable. Maggie & Bradley are both available to you if you need anything. The futon is in shared space downstairs but it's tucked in a nook and it felt private. Would recommend to anyone, especially to solo female travelers.

Friendly folks. Helpful. Common area futon is not for tall guests. Classic 70s decor. Bathroom roomy and clean.

Perfect for a quick place to get some rest while on the road. Great price for just a futon. Maybe don't shower there and be sure to have cell service on your way, just in case you need to contact the host prior to your arrival.

Rae, as I explained on the phone, private message and personal review, it's very hard to base my entire day on estimated arrival time for guests. Plans change frequently, timelines are altered, about 50% of our guests forget we're on MST. I message each booking personally to great them, give my cell phone and say that if I am running an errand I'm no further than 10 minutes away at most. You called, I responded, I told you how to get in, I came home immediately. I know you were tired but there's not anything more I can do other than explain the situation for the fourth time. As for the shower, the whole house is a work in progress and I clean it every single day, if the decor wasn't up to standards again there's not much more I can do but it's functional and keeps guests clean and happy. For 30 dollars you got a good bed (I know, I slept on it for weeks myself), a safe roof over your head, wifi, the offer of company, and that's a fair pricepoint for those services. Tent camping at an RV spot is two bucks less and we set the dollar amount accordingly. I hope the rest of your trip went a little better and if you do return and the bathroom has been remodeled we'd love you to stay again. Maggie
