Fang Fang (the host) is a very enthusiastic young woman who's eager to share and even more eager to absorb info of your travel stories from you. The Apartment is well situated in a suburb about 20 - 30 minutes from the Urumqi City Center. A cab from the City costed Chinese ¥17. The Apartment Complex has some basic facilities walking pathway, some playground, and a full sized basketball court (pick up game anyone?) Fang and her mom are great host, even though we couldn't understand much of what her mom said to us, as she her Mandarin (Pudong Hua) is accented, we know she meant well and wished us well. If there's one aspect that would make the stay more comfortable, and it's generally applicable to even most Hotels in Xinjiang, are their beds. They don't really have mattresses. The idea of a Bed, even full sized, is a very hard wooden board, covered is a 2 inch mattress protector. In my entire 20 days in Xinjiang, China, other than 2 Hotels (1 in Kashgar, 1 in Kuqa), ALL my other accommodations had beds of the same hard plank, mattress protector as Mattress. Hence, the bed, UNSURPRISINGLY, was hard. Not a real problem, as by then we've gotten used to Xinjiang Beds. Overall, we had a wonderful experience with this stay, Fang Fang is a well traveled wonderful enthusiastic Host, and I'd stay at her place again in a hear beat. GO FOR IT!
