I have worked in tourism in Costa Rica half my life. and I will be happy to help/advice you with your visit and any plan making. I also can design a walking tour of San Jose for you to enjoy.
I am sure you will find this house to be very inviting, peaceful, safe and cozy. It is very quiet for an urban house. You rarely hear sounds from the street, and I have quiet neighbours.
The urban train runs by a few blocks away however, and you will hear it's horn a few times during rush hour, but stops at 8 p.m.
-I am readily available at all times. But in order to organize my time, and be present during arrival and departure, I will require your estimated times of arrival/departure in advance. If flying in, please send me your ARRIVAL FLIGHT INFORMATION, not just the time, so I may check if your flight is on time and better administer my time, and be here to greet you.
- Pets are more than welcome as long as you can vouch for its behavior. I have a quiet, friendly rescued dog. So your pet must be dog friendly.
- 420 and tobacco smoking allowed in garden and terrace at any time.
- This is a diversity friendly house and prefer like thinking guests :)
- First and foremost I want you to feel at home here. With three living areas and a garden, there are plenty corners to make your own. With the kitchen/sitting/dining area being the more interactive one. I don't serve breakfast but there is allways coffee and tea you can help yourselves to, and you are welcome to use the kitchen, and greatly appreciate if common areas are kept tidy

My name is Jerry. I am a single, layed back and easygoing US expat entirely brought up in Costa Rica. I've been here since I was 9 years old, where my family moved after 7 years of living in Mexico. I am 100% bilingual and bicultural, although costa rican at heart. Have spent most of the past 40 years working in tourism in CR and am now semi retired. Will be more than glad to help point you in the right direction.
I am of liberal, of live and let live principles. Very open minded and hoping for like minded guests. This is an all inclusive, gay friendly house. I am just as comfortable sharing with you, or giving you your space. I can relate to both, but either way I love people making themselves comfortable and at home.
My house, built in 1948, with high ceilings, lots of natural light and ventilation. And a charming terrace and garden with trees, is a veritable downtown oasis. Just about everything is within walking distance. Including around 40 restaurants and gastro pubs. A quiet, safe and pedestrian friendly neighbourhood. Recently declared one of the cities discrimination free areas by local residents and businesses
You have a bakery/cafe two doors down from the house open from 7 am. And also a convenience and full grocery store 3 blocks away.
I don't serve meals, but you are welcome to the use of the kitchen.
I have traveled to over 40 countries in my life and have always enjoyed good fortune, and often found myself being hosted and pampered by locals abroad. I like to pass that onto others. After every trip however, I was always happy to return to this house.
See you soon!!
