Guest have access to the living room any outdoor space they would like to hang out in. You can feel safe parking your car in our driveway. We have a country feel, in town. We live in a quiet town on a even quieter street. Arriving after dark is more difficult to find our street
Pets live on this property, currently dogs (small and kept kenneled at your arrival, and if you are not into dogs we understand that and will keep them out of your way. They NEVER go into guest rooms. We also have outside chickens, with a Rooster.. so you may hear him, if that is offensive to you, or you are a light sleeper, an easy fix is to turn the fan on the window unit or ceiling fan.

Let me spoil you for a night or two or more. La Voile cottage is not big, or trendy. It's not close to many amenities. It is a wonderful place to pass thru on your vacation. Many of our guests are going to or coming from New Orleans. Words we hear guests describing our place are; peaceful, serene, comfortable.
We have a couple of fur babies, and our own chickens that provide your home-style breakfast. I've had the pleasure to cook for the nations it seems. I started training while in high school and have continued my entire life. We lived in Haiti for 16 years and raised our family there. If you are here long enough I can teach you how to make a traditional Haitian meal. Flavor and spices without too much heat.
We love music, reading, spending time with our family when we can. Tim and I have been married for over 30 years, and we have 2 daughters and 4 sons. They are all mostly gone from home spread all around the US. 2 of our children are adopted from Haiti. So we are deeply interested in racial/immigration/education issues. We can talk about that if you would like or not at all. La Voile is the name of our cottage, because it means sailing or to sail away. There is a story tied to the name. You should expect to be received into an atmosphere where your cares and needs are met for the duration of your stay. Can't wait to meet you, Ann and Tim
