Le logement
Whether you're a VCU parent, potential student or just got transferred to Richmond, you'll love our place. We are surrounded by restaurants & pubs, and next to the border of the VCU campus. The Altria theatre is a few block away. Byrd and Maymont Parks are a close drive. You’ll love our place because of the cozy decor and colorful area. We love our place because of the brick walls and sunlight. We've worked hard to make it an awesome experience. It is the best location and great for couples and business travelers. New King Mattress and comfy Queen memory foam sofa bed will ensure you get a good night's sleep!

History
This area became famous when Eddie Eck bought up a lot of the real estate on this portion of Main Street. He painted each building with bright colors, hoping the other owners would follow suit. They did! And now this is one of the most beautiful areas of Richmond.

"The Fan District is one of the most interesting areas in Richmond because of its unique architecture, restaurants, local shops, and monuments. [It was] named for the fan-like layout of its streets. Predominantly a residential area, the Fan is a fun place to wander and admire the many styles of architecture from the mid-late 19th century, including Italianate, Queen Anne, Richardsonian Romanesque, and Colonial Revival. Homeowners in The Fan have entertainment at their fingertips with walkable parks, restaurants, and museums, as well as Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) located in the Lower Fan."

We are meters from the VCU Campus, which means you get close access without the noise.

Also, we are next to the James River with all kings of walking, hiking and mountain biking trails. It is truly beautiful. Jump over to Belle Island or Hike over the rocks at Buttermilk Trail Park.

Accès des voyageurs
-You have full access to the house, except the far closet in the family room and the closet in the office area.
-Please DO NOT cook with stainless steal pans above sink. They are for show only. We have plenty of other pots and pans in the lazy Susan under the microwave.

Autres remarques
Welcome to our home on Main Street

Thank you for choosing us for your stay. We want to make sure that your stay is amazing. Therefore we have created this info-doc.

Check in: The key will be waiting for you at 4pm. We can be flexible if you contact us ahead of time. The key fits the front door, both locks and the dead bolt on the back door and the balcony.

Important! Make sure not to lock yourself on the balcony by leaving the bottom lock unlocked. We have taped it in this position. Please leave it this way.

Check out: Check out is 11am, but we will accommodate if needed. Please contact us ahead of time.

This is our home when we are in Richmond and we have put a lot of energy into making it warm and inviting, not only for ourselves, but our guests. Please treat it with the respect as you would your own home. Thank you!

Around you: This really is the perfect spot in Richmond. Across the street is Postbellum, one of Richmond’s best restaurantd. If you turn left out the door, you will find several pubs and small restaurants. Heading the right, you will the affordably priced, but really good Bachus. There is also Sidewalk Café and little further down is excellent sushi at Sticky Rice. We also recommend nearby the highly rated Dinamo’s, Edo Squid’s and Mama Zu’s. Just Google them for directions. There is a 7/11 a couple blocks east on the right.

If you love good coffee, Lamplighters is 2 minutes from our home. It is a popular hangout for VCU students and young families. Turn left from our home and take your first left. Lamplighters is on the right just about half a block up the street.

The Altria theater is a five-minute walk, home to many shows and concerts. Just turn left and go straight. Most VCU campus locations are within walking distance, including the Siegel Center (12 minute walk). Maymont and Byrd Park are close by and beautiful. And you are very close to the James River, with its walking and biking trails.

Dishwasher: If you need to use the dishwasher, detergent gels are underneath the sink. Close the door tight by pushing on both ends. Make sure it is on normal. Do not press the button for high heat. Then press start and the water should flow.

Towels and Sheets: Towels are in the bathroom closet. Sheets will already be on the main bed. If you require the sleeper sofa, sheets will be on them. You do not need to close the bed when you leave. A blanket and comforter will be provided in both rooms as well as plenty of pillows.

Spills! We hope that there will be no spills however in the event that there is spill, there is Simple Green under the counter. Spray on the spot. Leave for several minutes. Then use water to rub or dab. Please read the instructions on the bottle. Unremovable spots will be the responsibility of the user to reimburse owner.

Extending the dining room table: The table can seat up to eight. If you need to extend it, there are latches underneath both long ends. Open them. Pull the table apart. Lift up in leaf and open it. Place it in place it in place and close. You will need to latch it in underneath before using it. If you do extend the table, please fold back the cowhide carpet so no food falls on it.

Family Room/Second Bedroom: The far closet is personal. Please leave it closed. The first closet is yours. In it you will find a vacuum should you need it. If sheets are not on the bed, they will be there, along with pillows and a comforter.

No smoking in the house: If you need to smoke, you may use the balcony, but please keep the door closed, so no smoke enters the house.

Remote Controls:
In the Family room there are three remotes. The Samsung Remotes are for the TV and the Sound Bar. Turn on the TV with the remote and make sure that “Cable Box” is selected. You may also use Netflix or the other apps, as it is a smart TV.

Make sure the Sound Bat is on using the remote. It will light up in the middle. Click the source button until it reads on the sound bar, D.IN. It will be in this mode wine you arrive so you should not have to worry about this.

On the Verizon remote, press menu. Guide will tell you what is on and where your favorite channels are. Or just go to here and enter 23220. Please do not purchase any movies or other items.

The Main bedroom is much simpler. Just use the Verizon remote. On the left, power on turns on the TV. And on the right, power on turns on the cable. Volume is on that remote as well.

Washing Machine: If you need the washing machine and dryer.

We hope you enjoy your stay. Please return the key to its place when you leave.

If you need something you can call Sharon (804) 513-7326 or Yael (804) 467-7537.

Richmond, Virginie, États-Unis

The Fan is the hippest area in Richmond. Over the years it has gone through a renaissance. The streets are now beautified by thousands of colorful townhouses, like ours. Monument Ave, a few blocks over is one of the most famous streets in the south with cobblestone pavement.

I am a husband, father, author and world traveler. I have been to Nigeria, Uganda, Ethiopia, Russia, Ukraine, Cyprus, Turkey, Israel, Canada, Argentina, Brazil and all over Europe. We split our time between Tel Aviv and Richmond, where I grew up. In Israel we lead tours. We just bought this beautiful condo and rent it out on airbnb when we are in Israel. Five things I can't live without! My family! Mountain biking and hiking The internet/smartphone Enjoying the company of a happy dog espresso Favorite destinations: Montruex, Switzerland on lake Lusanne Dead Sea Region All over Tel Aviv Best books I have ever read were both written by Leon Uris: Exodus and Mila 18 If you live in Richmond, you must love food. I am part-time vegan, because it is healthy. I love salads, but when veer from the straight and narrow, I love a good whole fish like Branzino (and I can tell you where to get the best in Richmond) or Filet. I like all kinds of music accept most of the modern stuff. 70s Rock and Roll for driving and Baroque for writing. My life motto is, if I had one, everyone must visit a third world country and serve people at least once in their life! My wife calls this the 11th commandment.
