Description

My cozy 2 story home is located in historic Bankers Hill (Park West), next to I-5 and near the airport. I am 3 blocks from the heart of Little Italy.

My home has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, and 2 living rooms. I am walking distance to most EVERYTHING (museums, bars, restaurants, clubs & nature). Cozy, yet roomy @ 1400 sf, I am surrounded by Little Italy and San Diego Harbor to the west, Balboa Park (museums/nature) to the east, Downtown/Gaslamp Quarter to the south, and Hillcrest to the north.

My house is shaped like a triangle. Downstairs is a bedroom, living room, kitchen/dining area, and bathroom. Flooring is tile and carpet.

Upstairs is the loft area. Picture windows, real hardwood floors, a bedroom area, a living room, bathroom, and patio balcony overlooking the city skyline.

This is actually my personal residence; it's not just a "rental".

No keys. There is an electronic lock - I change the passcode for each guest, so you can be assured none else knows the current code.

You can access the whole house, upstairs and downstairs, and the patio balcony looking at downtown. It's rented for you and your guests, there is no sharing with me inside the house during your stay.

There is also outdoor patio seating. This area is shared with the neighbors. You might see their cat cruising around, or their cute little dog (on a leash). Very friendly doggie.

I'm told I'm easy to get along with, and I like people to be happy. At times, I can be busy, but I would be happy to give a quick tour of the area when you check in, or just give advice via text or phone call.

Little Italy is a GREAT destination for food, drink, and boutiques. There are too many places to list. From my home, exit the property, turn left on W. Grape St. and go under the Interstate 5. You are now in Little Italy. It's really close; you don't need to drive.

Balboa Park is our cultural center. Trails for fitness, museums, theatre .... its peaceful and beautiful. It's a long walk; or drive there, its not a long drive at all.

Downtown and Gaslamp are nearby as well - 1 mile to Gaslamp. Downtown is one of our business centers, as well as entertainment center. This is where all the wild bars and nightclubs are located. (Little Italy tends to close earlier as it is also a neighborhood where folks live).

There are Uber and Lyft drivers pretty much everywhere. Usually within a mile, as we are in the city center. Demand times vary with city events. Comic Con will see more demand; pretty much any other time they are 2 - 3 minutes away from picking you up.

There is a trolley stop in Little Italy, easily within walking distance. The trolley goes through downtown to Mexico, and also goes to Old Town San Diego, our Stadium, San Diego State University, and eastern communities.

There are bicycle rental racks just down Grape Street, as well as in other Little Italy and Balboa Park locations. These are throughout the city. I've not used them, but bicycling is an option.

Of course there are buses ... I just don't know about them.

Please note the home is near the downtown, the airport, and I am next to Interstate 5 (Little Italy is on the other side of the Interstate). It is an energetic environment, full of energy and movement.

Little Italy is a tourist center, attracting both locals and visitors alike. It's great for dinner and drinks, as well as for boutique shopping or just hanging out at cafe's.

Bankers hill tends to be more residential, but there are a few nice spots there too. Although its mainly residences, there are a few nice restaurants tucked into the neighborhood.

The whole area is full of locals and visitors alike. As we are a fair weathered city, there can be homeless folks in the streets. They usually keep to themselves and do not approach you. (Many facilities and programs that cater to the needs of the homeless are located downtown).

We were so happy with our stay at Manuel's! The pictures don't do it justice! It was comfortable and clean and had everything we needed and then some. We loved the location, less than a 5 minute to walk to Little Italy. We had a rental car and we felt like all of San Diego was within 15 minutes of our reach. Manuel was super easy to communicate with and gave us great recommendations which really added to our trip.

Very clean place 10 minute uber drive from downtown san diego. nice view. love the format of the place. 2 bedroom, 2 bath was great for me, because we can have privacy. Kitchen is great. Manuel is amazing and caring. Checked up on me to see how I was doing. So hospitable! I highly recommend again and again.

The place is in an awesome location. A short distance to gaslamp. Only problem we had was getting parking close to the home because we arrived so late so try and come in only one car if traveling with other people.

I renovate old houses, travel, and create music on my computer (and a guitar now and then). I love San Diego, the water, and hanging out in my neighborhood. You can find me in coffee shops, jogging at the park or beach, or hanging with my dad.

I speak English and Spanish fluently. I speak a little Russian having worked there once.
