The flat is in the heart of the old part of Belgrade, it is situated between the Danube and the Kalemegdan fortress. It is perfectly located for quick access to many of Belgrade’s main attractions like Knez Mihailova street, the Republic square, Skadarlija, Kalemegdan, which are only two or ten minutes away.
It is also within walking distance of most of the museums and historical places, like the Parliament Building and the old palace, as well as of the only mosque and only few monuments which remain from the Turkish period.
For people who are going to explore Belgrade`s attractions on foot or who are brave enough to use the public transport, this location is the perfect base for their stay. For them there are two "bus plus" cards which they can use and supplement with as much money as they need for going around.
There are few restaurants in the vicinity, and in the main street of the area, Dušanova street, you can find small supermarkets open until 9 or 10 in the evening, good bakeries, one of which is 24 hours open, banks, exchange offices, and there are also bus stops for line 24, 79 and 26, and for trams line 2, 5 and 10. If you choose to take line 2 it will take you through the most interesting and most famous parts of the center.
The apartment is on the second floor of a beautiful old building and it has all the characters of the style – high ceilings, old fashioned doors and windows, but it has been refurbished and adapted and has a rather big bathroom with a bath and a toilet and plenty of space for putting clothes or towels and other accessories.
The living room is divided into three parts -an open plan kitchen, a dining room and a sitting room. The kitchen is equipped with oven, washing machine, fridge, toaster, coffee machine, and a mixer. There is a TV and DVD in the sitting area and there is also an iron, a board and a blow dryer.
The bedroom is big enough for a queen size bed and a dresser, and built in wardrobes in the hall are spacious enough for clothes, bags, shoes and extra blankets or towels. There is an extra single bed in the living room. For those with babies there is also a baby cot.
Accès des voyageurs
Guests can use everything in the apartment, there are additional dishes or cutlery if they need it, I usually show them where everything is. The upper part of the wardrobe and a small store room are for my things.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
I usually see my guests when they arrive and when they leave and if there is need to do anything, but we always arrange when to meet. I live in another place which is not close to the apartment, so it takes time for me to get there.
Loud music at any time, shouting or jumping, bringing people and having parties is not acceptable, guests should be aware that talking and walking on the stairway can be heard, especially at night, so they should be careful.
Recently I decided to rent out my apartment and maybe it is filled with more pieces of furniture or things than a traveler needs, but it gives a certain charm to it (I hope). I moved to another place in Belgrade so I am never far away if you need me.
I used to live abroad for several years but I missed my country and my hometown, so I decided to come back.
Dorćol is the area where I lived most of my life, my primary school is here, the river bank, the confluence, the zoo, Kalemegdan, the national theater, my faculty and so many other things.
I love Belgrade, its history, its imperfections, its parks and fountains, the view when you approach from Novi Beograd, and I will be more than happy to share my knowledge about Belgrade with you if you are interested.
