Description

My place is close to Brisbane city centre (just 6 km) with a bus at the door; the University of Qld (2km) with bus at the door; Indooroopilly shopping precinct and the Ipswich train line. Indooroopilly is a centrally located, safe and well-serviced suburb.

You’ll love my place because of the charm of staying in a comfortable heritage home, that is lovingly cared for with a green leafy outlook.

My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.

Guests have relative privacy on the ground floor of the home. Space includes two large bedrooms, dining area, lounge, bathroom and laundry/motel kitchen facilities. You have your own downstairs access to come and go at your convenience.

Guests have the use of the downstairs floor, lower deck and pool. While there are basic motel facilities on the ground floor, including small fridge, sink, microwave, rice cooker, toaster, electric frypan and kettle, if necessary, guests can use the upstairs kitchen that is fully equipped.

My house is on the corner of Clarence and Central Avenue. When you arrive come to the Central Ave side of the house. Come through the metal sliding gate into the garage (the gate is unlocked and you can park there). Then go down the step onto the deck. The entrance to the groundfloor where your rooms are is there. I will provide you with instructions as to accessing the key. You are free to come and go as you please from the downstairs floor. While you are there, I use the top floor entrance to my rooms.

I work full-time in Brisbane city so I am not home during week days but am generally home (upstairs) on weekends and in the evenings. I tend to stay upstairs and try to respect your privacy as much as possible. However, feel free to come upstairs to interact if you wish.
You can contact me on (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) throughout your stay for any assistance.

Indooroopilly is a recognised as a safe suburb that is close to all amenities including public transport, a large shopping precinct Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, the University of Queensland and cinemas. You can easily access Brisbane CBD within a few minutes.
The Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is only 20 minutes away and there is a bus that takes you there that leaves from Moggill Rd.
Mt Cootha lookout and cafe can be seen from the front of my house. Again it is easily accessible.
If you walk up to the intersection of Clarence Rd and Swann Rd, (about 100 metres) you have a magnificent view of Brisbane City. It is a great place for a photo and to watch the fireworks when they are on.

There is a bus stop at the door (bus stop 30. The route 428 travels to the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre. It leaves from the opposite side of Central Ave. The route 428 also runs to the University of Qld from the house side of the road.

There is also a bus to Brisbane City (route 417) which leaves from the house side of the road. Please be aware that the 417 runs infrequently on the weekends and in the evening.

There are many buses running from the busstop on Moggill Rd Taringa which is a 5 minute walk from the house. These buses run frequently into the city and the cultural centre.

The house is situated between 2 train stations on the Ipswich/Springfield/Darra/Rosewood line. I find that the Taringa station is closer but it is older and has no lifts. It is also darker to walk to and from in the evening. Some of the express trains don't stop at the Taringa station.
Alternatively the Indooroopilly station is at the other end of Central Ave. It is large, modern with lifts and well lit. Be aware however that to walk to my house it is a good 15 minute walk up a hill.

There is undercover parking in the garage off Central Avenue. Please park your car over to one side in the garage to allow space for my car.
In Brisbane we have 3 rubbish bins: the one with a yellow lid is for recyclables, clean paper, drink cans and bottles; the one with a red lid is for general rubbish and the one with a green lid is for green waste, such as grass and tree clippings.
Please note that there are 2 dogs on the property that live upstairs and do not come into the guest area. However, from time to time I mind 2 Siamese cats. If you do not like animals, please check with me whether the cats will be on the property during your proposed stay.
