Welcome to the coolest space in Pierre, SD. Our Mansion was built in 1884 and was luxuriously renovated by us in 2016.
1st floor amenities:
Music Room with piano, broken guitar, and fabulous grand staircase.
Chandelier Dining Room with opera house chandelier, vintage record player and large vinyl selection, original shamrock-tiled fireplace and ridiculously gorgeous mantel, seating for 10 at the table, and seating for 4 more for lounging.
The Lion's Mane Library also with original lion-tiled (roar) fireplace and breathtaking oak mantel, and comfortable seating for 8 including round antique game table.
The Brick & Velvet living room with exposed brick gallery wall, comfortable seating for 6, large plasma TV and vast selection of dvd's.
Steampunk Kitchen with exposed brick, stainless steel appliances, double oven, gas cooktop in island, marble counter tops and servants stairway to 2nd floor. The kids love this.
The Olive half bath, named for a lovely former owner who perished in the library, is just off the kitchen and very convenient.
2nd floor amenities:
The Grand Staircase leads you to the following three guestrooms, all boasting original hardwood floors each with a different Victorian inlay:
The Grey Room, complete with one full wall of windows covered in original and fabulous wood shutters, a queen-sized metal bed, desk & chair, and 2 walk-in closets. This room connects to the French Room via a small weird passageway.
The Copper Room, complete with full-sized antique sleigh bed, original wood-shuttered windows, small desk, and one walk-in closet.
The French Room, complete with swanky queen-sized platform bed, black chandelier recessed into copper ceiling cove, antique tin ceiling (also from an opera house, of course) 2 walk-in closets, vintage vanity table & stool, and ANOTHER original fireplace with unbelievably cool mantel.
Servants staircase and servants hallway with its own unexplainable balcony lead you to:
The Apothecary Bathroom (full) where you can learn anatomy in French while doing your business.
The Laundry Lounge, complete with large capacity HE washer & dryer, original pine floors, exposed brick walls, a coffee/tea/wine bar, and an inversion table with heat.
At the top of the Song Lyric Staircase you will find the 3rd floor Attic Master Suite designed in an eclectic Steampunk/vintage/Bohemian style with exposed brick walls, a wood ceiling stolen from the original attic floor, crystal chandeliers, an enormous walk-in shower/wet room with 6-foot soaker tub (fits 2 adults nicely, wink-wink), and a center island made from original brick chimney. The walk-in closet spans one entire dormer and the queen-sized custom-made bed has an organic memory foam gel-cooled mattress in its own large space with small window and a personal climate-controlled environment. At the opposite end of the space is a small wine bar with oversized chair and ottoman for relaxing/reading/hiding from the others in the house.
Outdoor spaces:
Relax in our large and inviting sand firepit area dubbed Wannabe Beach. This space has comfortable seating for over 15 guests, including a dining area, two hammocks, a bamboo love seat and various benches and chairs.
Our second sand firepit lounging area has not been named yet. COME VISIT and help us name it. Firepit, loungers, small dining area, and an outdoor metal soaker tub coming soon!!!
We also have several large flower gardens with various sitting areas.

Guests can have access to all rooms (except the one we are sleeping in), all outdoor spaces, firewood, coffee and tea, and off-street parking.

We will be around if needed. :)

Our home takes up 1/4 of the city block so really we are our own neighbors. Very secluded and private. Pierre has over 30 miles of interconnected hike & bike trails and our home is within 2 blocks of a main trail.

River City Transit will take you where you want to go. It is an on-demand shuttle service. Fares range from $1.50- $5 per trip depending on how early you call.

Pierre SD is on the Missouri River and boating, wakeboarding, jetskiing, paddle boarding, canoeing, kayaking, snorkeling, and fishing are our specialties.
