Le logement

We are located in South Philadelphia, in the Passyunk Square area, a few blocks from famous Geno's and Pat's, the Italian Market, and walking distance to South Street. The neighborhood is loaded with fantastic places to eat of all ethnicities, including vegan, vegetarian, halal and kosher. Across the street is the 47 bus which is a 10 minute ride to Society Hill, the historic district and downtown. Also across the street is the 29 bus which takes 6 minutes to Broad Street where you can catch the subway 10 minutes direct to the stadiums and concert venues. On a beautiful sunny day everything is no more than a 15 minute walk. On street parking is free, unrestricted and safe. There is no problem finding a spot during the day, however, neighbors come home from work starting about 4 pm, and by 5-6 pm it is hunt and hike and by 8-9 pm it is impossible. Come during the day and park, and you can forget about your car until time to leave.
We have a private room for you with, yes, a sofa bed, BUT a sofa bed like no other. It is a special Italian design that cost a fortune but is well worth it. NO METAL BAR IN YOUR BACK! It folds out into a solid queen size platform bed that is unbelievably comfortable and supportive.
The bathroom, which is shared with one other guest room, is checked and OCD cleaned every day, sometimes even more. Thanks to Steve, the retired chef, there is always a cache of fresh bread, biyalis, muffins or something laying in wait, begging to be eaten. Price includes full breakfast, and most of the food we prepare is organic when possible. Spring, summer and fall, weather permitting, after a foot weary day you can relax in our lovely little garden with a glass of iced tea. Parking is on street, safe, free, and no permit needed, however, being residential it is first come first served. Usually daytime is no problem, but when neighbors come home from work, starting around 4 pm, it fills up pretty fast and by 5-6 pm it is hunt and hike, so please try to consider this in your arrival time.
Free WiFi,laundry facilities including ironing board and iron available, complimentary toiletries and hairdryer available. No smoking. We have 1 very friendly and affectionate cat.
Please see the House Rules.

The stay at susan&steve's place was awesome. Welcome was great and friendly, hosts are very very kind and give you tons of stories about the city and ideas of spots to visit, bus stops are very close (2.25$ a ride), safe neighborhood, room is very clean and charming, shared bathroom is not a problem cause it's very clean, a lot of charming details and an amazing experience. The stay was more than expected and this place is THE perfect one ! Will surely come back there, you feel like at home.

Susan & Steve were extraordinarily warm and welcoming. It was a pleasure to share a few days with them, enjoying the great breakfast prepared by Steve, and also engaging in "family-like" discussions on all kind of subjects - including politics. Room was very good, I would definitely try to come back for my next trip to Philadelphia.

Stop you're Airbnb hunting. You're going to Philly? Then stay at Susan and Steve's! There are not enough words that can actually described our experience in this wonderful house. They welcomed us open-armed! And also with tea and snacks, were flexible on the check-in hour, gave us great directions for restaurants and places to go to. We had very very interesting conversations and I already grew out of them! Steve is a wonderful chef, they cooked us breakfast, took the time to get to know us. They're both smart and interesting people who are worth to be known and appreciated. A lovely German couple were also there and it was a delight to share a little bit of our week end there with them. We actually felt like we were at a family reunion. My friend and I would like to stay in touch with them and I already told another friend of mine who wants to come back to Philly to stay at their place.

Very nice welcome from Susan and Steve, with snacks and beverages very appreciated after many hours of drive. Interesting touristic and historic explanations about Philadelphia ! Room was very clean and confortable, so is the restroom. And we will never forget the awesome breakfast made by the probably best baker of Philly ! We highly recommend you to stay there and meet Susan and Steve ...
