Beautiful shepherds hut, traditionally rebuilt using New Forest Oak and local materials to the highest standard. Shepherds huts were originally used as part of this Manor farm to provide shelter on the marshes during the lambing season. It provides quality accomodation for two, warm in winter, cool in summer, incorporating a modern, sleek shower room, wash hand basin, hot and cold running water and flushing toilet. There is a very comfortable John Lewis sofa bed with a goose-down duvet to ensure a great nights sleep. There are also tea and coffee making facilities in the hut for your convenience.
Situated in the 7 acre grounds, close to an Elizabethan manor house, yet enjoying its own privacy and area of the gardens, it overlooks ponds attracting wildlife including deer browsing around your hut at dawn.Wild geese come every year to our ponds to raise their young as do other wildfowl and moorhens.
A breakfast hamper is delivered to your door each morning, including all sorts of treats (see the reviews) .
Surrounded by the New Forest National Park, this 500 year old manor house has ancient rights to keep animals grazing on the New Forest. We are situated on a pathway which leads directly to the the beautiful and renowned coastal path network. This gives access to walks along miles of sea wall with views out across the Solent and the Isle of Wight. It also provides access to the Pennington Marshes, regarded as one of the best bird watching locations in the country.
There are numerous local cycle-ways on the coastal path or in the New Forest itself, together with a hop on-hop off bus service which provides a circular route around the Forest throughout the summer months for you and your bike!
Perhaps best of all, we are a 20 minute walk (5 minutes drive) from the Georgian high street of Lymington, recently described as the 'most desirable coastal small town in the country', with its ancient street market, boutique shops, excellent cafes, restaurants, bars and harbour. There are ferries to the Isle of Wight or small boats for local trips around the coast, plus two large marinas should you want to rent a boat to sail for yourself!
Alternatively, just relax in the grounds of the old Manor house, enjoying the peace and wildlife.
There are excellent transport links, with motorway access into the area, plus a local train station with a direct line into London Waterloo ( 1 hour 20 minutes). There are also good links to both Gatwick and Heathrow airports, whilst the two local airports (Bournemouth and Southampton ) are both within 40 minutes drive.
The Shepherds Hut provides a truly unique opportunity to relax and experience all the natural attributes of this beautiful area, yet with easy access to the delights of Lymington.
Have a good time!

I am an energetic, positive person, married to a lovely man. We have 2 daughters in their late teens/early twenties. We have lived in Lymington in our current home for many years - my husband was brought up in the New Forest so hasn't moved far!! I recently took early retirement from my job, have taken on a new part-time one and am enjoying having more time to devote to a range of interests, including having guests in our Shepherds Hut. We love meeting new people and have had some great people to stay so far.
