Second-floor one bed home (bathroom, dbl bedroom, livingroom/kitchen, cat) in Leith - recently voted UK's second hippest neighbourhood! - perfect for single traveller or couple and close to all amenities and bus stops.
Soren the cat will be your host and will stay in the flat with you! She loves meeting new people, and all she asks is that you feed and water play with her a little every day.
Please note this is my full-time home and not a bought-for air bnb hotel apartment. I adhere to the old ethos of air bnb, where I can open my home to people when I'm not there, so that they can enjoy my wonderful city at a good price in unique accommodation.
Being my home, it's full of knick-knacks and personality and items of great sentimental value. Although of course it's clean, it's lived-in and, like the area, a little bit shabby-chic and definitely idiosyncratic! If you are after a more modern and minimalist accommodation, it's probably not for you!
But if you fancy the adventure of experiencing Edinburgh like a native and staying somewhere with a bit of character, I welcome you with open arms into my home. I'll even provide a wee snack for you to get stuck into when you arrive.
A few of those wee idiosyncrasies about the flat:
Bathroom access is a bit tight: the bath starts right at the door, so you have to be relatively limber to sidle past, and the shower ceiling is a little low, about 5'10 - see pic.
Carpet in the loo and wooden floors in living room are a little worn.
Tiny crack in one of the living room windows.
Microwave plate doesn't rotate.
Oh yes, just one last thing - please water the plants. Thank you!

I'll be on the end of the phone if you need to get in touch about anything for the duration of your stay. I've lived in Edinburgh for quite a few years now, and am happy to help with any questions you might have about where to go and what to do.
Soren Kittycat will be your host and will be staying with you in the flat - it's her home and she loves it! She will need feeding and watering twice a day, but I'll leave food and full instructions.
She's a 15 month old tabby (but a wise old philosopher at heart) and once she's sussed you out, super friendly and purry and happy, always up for a stroke or a wee skritch behind her ears or under her chin while she sits on your lap and gazes into your eyes. She's such a suck-up!.
She'll probably want to sleep on the bed with you and follow you to the toilet, but closing bedroom or bathroom doors means you can have a bit of privacy. She won't be too offended!
In return for all this love and adoration, there are a few rules I have in place in the 'House Rules' section regarding Soren - please read and acknowledge you have understood and are happy to comply with them. Thank you!
Please note this is for genuine cat-lovers only! Please read the information below and let me know that you are OK with it.
Soren will be there the whole time and you must be willing to feed her twice a day and to respect that, as with most cats, she needs to become your friend on her terms first - I'd advise leaving her to make the first move! She is sweet and friendly and loves sitting on your knee and a good chin/ear scratch but will approach you only when she is confident enough - please don't attempt to force that as it could make her scared and aggressive. Highly unlikely, but this is standard for all cats.
Soren is an indoor only cat, and must stay in the flat at all times.
Windows MUST NOT be left wide open for Soren to jump through.
If you are willing to clean her litter that's great. otherwise I will come and check on her every couple of days if your stay is longer than that.
She does like to sleep on/in the bed at night but you can easily close the bedroom door to keep her out!
If you are allergic to cats this flat will not be suitable.
