Enjoy our cozy and well located downtown apartment during your stay in Reykjavik.
Please send us a message regarding the availability of your preferred dates before your attempt to book. As a matter of security, please fill out your full profile and attach a photo of you before inquiring about accommodation.
We just renovated the apartment and changed some of the furniture you see on the pictures. We'll be uploading new pictures any day now.
The bright and cozy apartment is on the first floor of a nice old house. It is located on the western side of the old city, close to the harbor in the centre of Reykjavík. The apartment is 42 square meters but it's very high ceiling makes it feel a lot bigger. It has one bedroom with a small double bed (135 x 200 cm), a fully equipped kitchen, a bright living room with beautiful windows and a bathroom with a danish shower.
Our place has so many things that will make your stay in Reykjavík an easy going pleasure; free internet, TV, washing machine, tumble dryer, blow dryer, linen and towels.
The apartment has been completely renovated and has central heating. The bright bed room and living room have both beautiful hardwood floors and a nice mixture of old 60's teak furniture and new furniture. The small yet cozy bathroom was rebuilt in 2013.
A third person can be accommodated on the couch in the living room.
The apartment is located in the absolute heart of Reykjavík and is within walking distance of all the interesting sights in the city center. It is within walking distance from the center, only 750 m from Austuvollur (Parlament), 1000 m from Laugavegur shopping street and 2000 m from Hallgrimskirkja church.
Right across the corner from the apartment you'll find a grocery store (open 24/7) a pharmacy and a gym.
The old and beautiful public geothermal swimming pool Vesturbæjarlaugin is also only 1000 m away. Other interesting sites in my neighborhood are e.g. The Catholic church, The National library, The National Museum of Iceland, the University of Iceland and the Nordic house. There is also a cinema close by.
Restaurants and bars have been popping up in this western part of the old city lately by the harbor. We recommend Slippbarinn - the bar and restaurant at Hotel Marina, restaurant Forréttabarinn - a cool place that only serves starters, Búllan - by far the best burger joint in town and café Haítí. All these places are within 5 min walking distance.
We warmly recommend a walk both along the coast of Grótta and Ægissida and at the old harbor of Reykjavik, where you will find a spectacular view of the ocean.
It takes only 45 min. to drive to Reykjavik from Keflavik National Airport. The easiest way to travel the road is to take the FLYBUS which has a terminal at Reykjavík's main bus station called BSI. It will take you about 15 min. to walk to my apartment or 5 min. driving a car. If you should rent a car it is nice to know that there is a free parking in my street.
I am flexible about check in and check out times. However in general I ask people to check out at 11 am. Check in is at 14 pm. There are many flights arriving early in the morning and if there is not a guest checking out on the day of your arrival you can go straight to the apartment in most cases. Guests can usually leave luggage behind during the last day, or drop it off early if the apartment isn't ready yet.
Please note that there is no smoking in the apartment.
