À propos de ce logement

This converted stable offers self-contained, centrally heated accommodation in a quiet village only 3 miles from Guildford. Surrounded by endless beautiful walks and historical places, yet London’s convenient “Waterloo” railway station is only 40 minutes from Guildford’s main-line station.
Sorry, no pets and no smoking

Le logement

Our aim is to make you welcome and to make your stay at the converted stable a pleasure, and satisfy your expectations. Up until 1989 the building was being used as a stable, and because the conversion sought to maintain the building’s original character, access is more limited than that of a purpose built accommodation.

We ask you not to smoke in the building. The grassed area of the garden is shared with Juniper Cottage.

Mobile phone signals are generally good.
Wireless connection to broadband is available and free.

There is a bus stop at the end of the road with three buses an hour to and from Guildford. From Guildford there is an excellent fast service to London Waterloo station (40 mins) and Portsmouth in the opposite direction.
The village with two food stores and two pubs is 6-8 minutes walk and there are large supermarkets at Guildford and Godalming.

There is no off-street parking but Eastwood road is a quiet cul-de-sac and there is mostly easy parking adjacent to Juniper Cottage.

Finally, If you do not like quietness, apart from the occasional hoot of an owl at night,
this is probably not the place for you!

Accès des voyageurs

Access to the Stable is through a five-bar gate to the side of Juniper Cottage and 20 meters along a level drive of stone chippings.

There is one 23cm step into the building which has standard width doors throughout. The upstairs bedroom is accessed by a spiral staircase. NB there is no door to this bedroom for privacy /sound from the living room (which has a single bed) below. This upstairs bedroom has been converted from the original hayloft and as such has restricted access: The double bed is set low (28cm to top of mattress) for this reason.

In the kitchen there is a 4 plate gas hob and an eye level microwave/oven.
The lobby has a washing machine and tumble dryer.
The washroom has no bath but a wash basin and shower with step over access (30 cm), and toilet.

Échanges avec les voyageurs

We try always to help directly or by email/phone with any issues that may occur or with directions for walks etc., but try to maintain guest's privacy whenever possible.

Bien cordialement. Eric, Martial et Caroline

This suited us to a tea. We were in the U.K. to visit with old friends and family in the Surrey area. A great location and quiet neighborhood. Bob and Jan were very friendly and helpful. Even looking after some visiting friends until our return. The accommodation is cozy with all the mode cons one would need.

I was in Bramley for a three week assistant teaching in Shamley Green and the cottage was the perfect place for me. I liked to come back in the evening to a quiet neighborhood and a lovely garden and slept very good in the comfortable bed under the roof. As I was there for a while it was convenient to be able to do laundry. Bramley itself is small and really quiet, but even on Sunday there is a possibility to get food and the essential in a little shop nearby. If you like to go shopping, have a big choice of good restaurants, or go to to a movie or theatre, Guilford is the place, where you can get easily by bus. There is a nice walking trail passing by in Bramley, leading to Guildford (very nice walk!) or the other side, Cranleigh. In general the landscape is beautiful and worth to go on an excursion. I had a warm welcome and any help I needed on one side but on the other my private little home and all the privacy. I enjoyed these three weeks a lot and would love to go back for a vacation one day!

There are not enough great words to explain this stable conversion. Outstanding for a romantic getaway, quiet, cozy, warm, absolutely everything you could need or want. Charming and thoughtful decoration, everything clean and a place to put anything. Surprisingly big once inside. Hosts are friendly and welcoming, accommodating too. The Internet is strong so you can work here too if you want peace and quiet. Shops about 6 minutes walk, three pubs, restaurants for Indian and Fish & Chips. Chinese take away and more. Minutes from Guildford by car and less than an hour to London including time to park at Guildford station.

We loved staying at Juniper cottage. It was perfectly located and just a short walk into the middle of the village where there are lots of nice places to eat. The cottage was lovely and cosy, just what we wanted. Bob was very friendly and informative. Hopefully we'll be back soon!

My wife, Jenny, and I are retired and live with our Jack Russell dog, Maisie, at Juniper Cottage. We converted the stable in 1993 when our daughter's passion for her pony gave way to study and boys. We have been offering self-contained accommodation since 1997 when we were rated as 3 star by the English Tourist Board.
