Patrick and I are usually around to help our guests plan their daily excursions if needed. We are happy to share coffee/tea together in the morning and welcome you upon your return at the end of the day. Each hosting is unique and so we're amenable to interact at a level that is comfortable for everyone.
It gets very quiet and dark here at night. People used to living in a city will notice this the most. On clear nights the stars shine remarkably. Weather and time permitting, we like to end the day with an outdoor fire. Then we gaze at the night sky looking for constellations and shooting stars.
July and August LLBean puts on free concerts at their campus in town. You can look online for the concert schedule "Summer in the Park".
We do quite a bit of sailing in Casco Bay and offer sailing charters for those interested in seeing the incredible view of Maine from the water.

Friendly, outgoing, active and fun! I love to cook, create all kinds of things and care for my loved ones. When I travel I look for clean and comfortable. My bed is soooo important to me because I want a good nights sleep. It doesn't have to be too fancy, not that I mind the Four Seasons, I just want to lie down in the bed and think - WOW this is great!
I'm a proud mom of two fabulous young women, both living in Boston.
Pappy and I are both world travelers who have moved dozens of times around the country. He is a native of Maine and I was born in NYC. We feel Freeport offers us so much. We're fortunate to have a private, sunny and quiet home, some of the best sailing in the world, all kinds of gorgeous places to play outside from skiing, to kayaking, to hiking, swimming to many to list. There are fantastic free outdoor concerts hosted by LL Bean that will blow you away, terrific stage shows, an awesome new movie theater with lots of screens, 3D movies, cushy seats and great popcorn.
I'm a bit of a health foodie. Having owned award winning restaurants, you might say I'm particular about our food. The local food scene here is phenomenal.
As for dining out etc., there are so many wonderful local restaurants to choose from from Italian, Thai, Greek, BBQ, Seafood to brew pubs, a tea house, Starbucks or the local fav - Coffee by Design. There is definitely something for everyone. Plus Portland, considered one of the best Foodie Cities in the country is only 15 minutes south.
My beer snob partner claims that Maine Beer Company is the holy grail of Maine brewers. They just opened up their new brewery with a tasting room in Freeport. If Pappy's ever missing, I know where to find him.
As for our travels, we love to use Airbnb. Lately we've traveled around Europe and have had wonderful airbnb experiences. One of our favorites is Norway, my father's homeland. It looks much like Maine (on steroids) and the culture is wonderful. What we appreciate most is that they live in accord with nature, not dominion over it. There is much about their way of life that makes sense to us, its simple, elegant and clean, based on sustainable policies with respect for all living things.
