Thanks for your comments Ryan.
I knew almost at the same time than you that Amanda had some kind of issue at the house and could not receive any guest at the house during those dates.
That's why she had to change you to her other house (meters of distance from one house to the other one).
It was an emergent solution (something that almost never happened) but for avoiding the cancellation of your reservation and especially for avoiding you were with no house at all there.
Amanda probably did not know how to explain you, as she does not know much English, and maybe that confused you to bit.
But as you said, all houses in Trinidad have a very similar appeareance.
As far as I know, by Amanda and by your private and public comments, you had a great experience at Viñales, but also at the house and with all the service offered to you.
Besides, I answered with great pleasure (I do not complain at all) every single question you and your friend Amber asked me by Airbnb and by private messages, even about other things that had nothing to do with Viñales and the house and even at Midnight when I was already sleeping at my bed (and honestly do not know many hosts that do that)
As you can see if you read all my previous evaluations, I'm a serious person and do my best to offer good service to all clients. Uncomfortable situations may occur, but I will always try to affect the less possible to guests because I know all the feeling and expectations when you are in a foreign country and also because this service is not just for money, but for showing our culture, our way of living and being to visitors from around the world and interact and enrich both sides from our experience, knowledge and friendship.
So, I'm really sorry you did not stay at the house you had selected, but the real change you had to "suffer" was the color of walls. I mean: it was the same size of the house, same number of bedrooms and bathrooms, same number and size of beds, same service and same people serving you, same location as one house is so close to the other one, etc.
So, I completely understand that it was unexpected and unplanned for you, but can you say that it changed your whole experience in Viñales? I bet not.
I asked the same to other guests just to know what they think about this situation and they all said that it is not nice to get something different from what you chose first, but is not the only or more important experience to get from Viñales, neither the actual advice to new visitors should be verify meticulously that they had booked the same house advertised because this was an exception, not the rule.
In any case, it was a pleasure to serve you, help you where possible and give you the best ;)
