Jake thanks so much for your feedback. I would like to point out a few things and perhaps tell the second side to the story for future house guests. I am sorry you felt unwelcomed at some times during your stay. I think it stemmed from a mismatch of expectations from host to hosted and vise-vera. I would like to clear the air on a few things.
1) Regarding the parking, per the listing there are two places to park one the street and two the end of the drive way. The offering to park in the garage wasn't your privilege as it wasn't part of the listing, it was instead a kind gesture offered due to the heavy snow and lots of ice storms. A gesture I removed after you left your shoes out in the basement where Rocco was loose. In this setting, weeks prior Rocco had surgery due to a obstructed stomach and intestine. I am sorry your shoe laces were eaten however perhaps place them in the closet where the other shoes are or take them up to your room. I am sorry your car was hit, that could happen anywhere or could have occurred at the grocery store or at work and you didn't notice.
2) Being up late at night. Jake had very different sleeping patterns compared my self and Kaylee. He would come home around 3-5pm, take a nap until 7-9, come down make dinner outside my room around 9 pm and then be up moving around the house between the hours of 1130pm-1am during the week. And during the weekends he would sleep in/not come out of his room until 4 pm. He woke me up 4-5 time a week but also my boyfriend, his TV was audible to the other house mate until late hours of the night. The last straw came from my end when he was up talking on the phone at 1115 pm so loud to the point he woke me up with ear plugs in. In addition Jake's room was odorous to the point it was noticeable downstairs and to the houseguest sharing up stairs, this odor was due to food, plates, and stacks of dirty clothes left on the floor. Also Jake left the kitchen window open for 9 hours during a 30 degree night as he didn't like the smell of the swiffer used to clean the floor. This caused my furnace to run all night long wasting electricity.
With the above said, I think that frustrations stemmed from the lack of respect for the space. This isn't a hotel but is my home. Of which I gladly open to those willing to respect the space and those who live in it. I think that our ideas/ expectations from a host to a hosted varies which causes frustrations on both ends. I have had countless other people stay in that room for similar durations with out having the aforementioned problems.
