Come stay in my awesome and spacious first floor flat in South Berkeley! I live a just a few blocks from the nearest BART station (Ashby) which takes you to downtown Oakland in 10 minutes or downtown San Francisco in just 20 minutes. Downtown Berkeley is just a mile north - one bart stop, a short drive, or a half hour walk.
The bed is in a private room with two desks and a closet, there are several windows that overlook the backyard. The bathroom is shared and directly in between your room and Kyle's. The huge backyard boasts a lush shaded lawn, brick firepit, mobile herb garden, and even a driveway basketball hoop! Expect to have the best of both urban and backwood worlds in this convenient sanctuary. A neighbor has chickens and a rooster next door, so you'll occasionally be greeted with sounds of being out in the country! Otherwise it is an exceptionally quiet neighborhood.

Feel free to make yourself at home. This two-bed one-bath apartment consists of shared areas: living room, dining room, bathroom and kitchen; and you'll have your own private room with full size bed. Cooking is welcome, and I even have two refrigerators with ample storage.
I'm conveniently located between the two best grocery stores in the area - both in walking distance - #1 Berkeley Bowl is two blocks northwest and #2 Whole Foods three blocks southeast. (Check out the Guidebook for more recommendations!)
Échanges avec les voyageurs
I like to leave amount of interaction up to you. I work elsewhere during the weekdays, so you'll pretty much have the house to yourself during those times. I'm happy to spend a little time showing newcomers around town or out for dinner if there is interest, but if not, no problem! I try to give my guests space and privacy, with the option to engage or ask questions if you feel so inclined.
If requesting to stay, please have a completed and verified profile with photos of you and guest! Please do not request on behalf of somebody else (your mom, son, cousin, husband) – guests should have their own fully verified profile.
I try to be as transparent as possible on my end, and in welcoming you into my home, the more information I have about you and your trip, the better.
You might see in this profile a few pictures and guest reference to a beautiful yellow lab named Maia. Sadly, Maia died unexpectedly in April 2016 at the age of five. She was an incredible member of the family and is missed dearly.
Bedroom quiet hours are between 9:30pm and 5:30am.
Please use headphones, move conversations, and take all phone calls outside your bedroom during these hours. These hours do not apply to other common areas (kitchen, living room, dining room, etc), just your bedroom. You can watch TV in the living room, cook, and do as you like in any other part of the house at pretty much anytime within reason.
Non smokers preferred, please. This home is drug-free.
