I live in a historic house in Fairfax village that was built in the 1920s. The house is huge! It is a two bedroom - one bathroom place with a front and back garden, vintage stove, real fireplace, washer and dryer in the house and lots and lots of works of art everywhere!
I am the only one living in the house and I'm never there. I work for magazines internationally, so my schedule is super busy. I'm renting out the second bedroom and anyone that rents it can have full use of the house, of course. Think of it as having a roommate that you never see :)
The neighborhood is one of the most sought after neighborhoods in Hollywood, with everything close by at walking distance - something very rare for Los Angeles. Great cafes, bars and restaurants all around the block, the famous Erewhon health food store three blocks away, The Grove just a 5 minute walk! Quentin Tarantino's movie theater, the new Beverly cinema, is at the corner, and Melrose avenue is one block north - and so is the bus stop.
The pace is unique, since although it is so centrally located, it is extremely quiet and peaceful.
The only rule is to be respectful :)
This is my home, that I have decorated with a lot of love and have a lot of items inside that are dear to me. Books, posters, magazines, candles, sculptures. I am very happy to share my space with travelers and want them to live in it as it was their own home. That means that you can use everything, but also that you will treat everything with the same respect as if it was your own.
