Recently restored 1790's log cabin with modern amenities on a 30 acre horse farm. Secluded wooded setting with pond view, less than 1,000 feet from main house and only 5 miles from downtown Culpeper with it's fine dining and quaint shops. Take a short drive to scenic Shenandoah hiking & biking trails, local vineyards and distilleries, Civil War sites, Commonwealth Equestrian Park, stroll around the farm or just unwind on the front porch or in front of the wood stove with a good book.

Le logement
The Cabin is situated in a wooded area of our 30 acre farm, facing westward towards a small pond. We are conveniently located approximately 5 miles from the town of Culpeper, rich in historical significance and a popular destination which offers fine dining and shopping, several craft breweries, antiques shops and a museum in the train station.

The upstairs sleeping loft offers a comfy queen sized bed, while the two "This End Up" sofas downstairs can be made up with sheets and blankets as twin beds for our younger guests. A queen size air mattress is available for adult-sized guests upon request and can be set up in the front of the hearth.
The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped for cooking, and both the kitchen and dining area windows look out onto a couple of our horse pastures.
There are cozy rockers on the front porch inviting you to "sit a spell" and relax with a glass of wine or iced tea and listen to the sounds of nature.
We hope that you will enjoy staying in our log cabin again and again as you explore all that Culpeper and the surrounding area has to offer!
The cabin is winterized and closed up for the season from early December through the end of February to avoid frozen plumbing and frozen visitors!!

Accès des voyageurs
Please feel free to stroll and enjoy the farm, there are quite a few spots to sit down and relax and watch the critters - we have chickens and geese and horses and a contingent of farm cats.
Wildlife that also frequents the area includes deer, fox, raccoons, opossums, skunk, and the occasional feral pig in the wee hours of morning.
The pergola by the pond is a nice spot to sit and watch the turtles sunning themselves or listen to the chorus of frogs.
Or, you could always help me weed the vegetable garden!!!

Autres remarques
There are so many things to see and do in the local area and in the surrounding areas within an hour's drive. The Visitor's Center in the train station in downtown Culpeper is packed with information for you to choose from. Enjoy your stay and make some lasting and pleasant memories!

Hi I'm Patti - Late 50's, perpetually curious observer of the natural world, eager student of our beautiful plant kingdom along with the therapeutic properties they offer, and joyful orchestrator of creative kitchen cookery. Board certified massage therapist since 2003 (please inquire if interested), retired from office administrative work and lately very much enjoying homesteading on the small farm of my girlhood dreams, every once in a while a yen for a short getaway or sightseeing adventure breaking any monotony that might set in. In addition to my farm critters, I have a busy husband and two amazingly cool grown girls. I host folks at my place through Airbnb and have loved the experience of meeting so many really great people and sharing the place that I love with them!

Pendant votre séjour
If there is anything that you need during your visit, please feel free to let us know and we will do our best to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Please check in at the house upon arrival for your stay, the driveway to the log cabin is gravel and has room for parking and turnaround at the end in front of the cabin, however, it must be accessed from an unpaved section of
drive next to the orchard and then behind the pond - it can get quite muddy after extended rains and you may be asked to park your car on our driveway and take our John Deere 'Gator out to the cabin so your car doesn't get stuck in the muck!. :)
